Sligo's figures on the attendances thread.
(Though you could repeat for a few other clubs too).
A close second is the notion that my first choice is caused by jealousy/bitterness/being obsessed.
Edit - also "The stand was full"

Sure they give official (or "official") figures, so there's no need for him to estimate anyway.

Roddy Collins "I had him at Bohs".
Random Barstoolers "You know what that league needs? Investment so they can get great players, then id start going along".
oh yeah whenever Pat Fenlon says this in an interview,
"I dont really care what Pat Scully, Sean O'Connor, Roddy Collins thinks". Just insert whomevers appropriate at the time.

Sporting Fignal is the way forward for all clubs in this league.
Particularly enjoy those who say we should go down the Australian A League rote of new, broad appeal clubs with extra money at their disposal and who spend lots of extra money.

Ferglr - that's called history. You know - stuff that happened in the past.
As they say in financial ads 'Past results do not give any indication as to future performance'.
If Rovers were cup specialists, you might have actually won one at some point in the last 22 years....... :o

Socrates at UCD is my favorite, seductively plausible, but utterly ridiculous when you know it's not true.
As PS mentioned, "The stand was full," is a persistent one among attendance estimates; it always makes me chuckle.
As they say in financial ads 'Past results do not give any indication as to future performance'.
actually read that as "Pats results do not give any indication as to future performance" which gave me a chuckle.
BTW, when the draw is being made on 6-1 News it should be "... will play Shamrock Rovers, former cup-specialists"

The Doc and Theo Dunne used to spend an hour each week making up fake injury updates just so we'd get a longer match preview in the paper. Tony McDonnell was once doubtful cos of a dead leg six weeks in a row. He recovered each time though.
