Things not going our way. I have a feeling this is just not going to be our night. Bulgaria will win this one easily and we'll get hammered by the Italians. The ref is running off to the dressing room now at half time....

who was the fool that said bulgaria look good in defence? and who was the other one that said we def played the right game plan. Bulgaria are terrible in defence. How did we not score more?! simple cos we sat back and tactics were all wrong. the game on saturday should have been well and truly over by the time kilbane decided to open his foot and place the ball into the far left corner instead of hoofing it out.

Bulgaria looked very good in that half but there are still some cracks in their armor. Technically excellent, our draw looks a decent result now. Cyprus are still in it though and if they get a goal and draw the game Bulgaria could be up the creek. C'mon Cyprus

I can see a goal in that Cyprus team. Bulgaria look quite poor at the back.

The only certainty is that the cameraman and ref were in the same watering hole before the match. Shocking camera work and refereeing.:mad:

We may really regret not knocking Bulgaria out for good last Saturday. They win this and they get Berbatov, Bojinov and Martin Petrov back for the end of the campaign and it will be looking much better for them.

Good crowd for a 6pm kick off. Apparantly, it's boisterous according to the presenter.

Both teams are way below their best, I can see Cyprus scoring but they always give away silly goals, if they were tight at the back, they have a good chance to win this game.

Ah, so you wouldn't have minded Kilbane and McShane being faced with level of tempo and with that sort of quick balls being played in and around their box?

NO but if we had held onto it and played it around their box we could have scored again, they are terrible in the air and generally look unsteady in the back.

Bulgaria are one of the worst teams i have seen defensively in a while. Cyprus should be at least drawing.

No Cyprus just dont know how to tackle in midfield when they dont have the ball. reminds me of our own team :D

just there was an example where the cypriot player got hte ball caught between his feet in a tight space and still managed to work away and make a good pass. IF that were any of the irish midfielders or full backs they would have lost possession.

I wouldn't mind too much about the heat, the players should be fit enough to hack it, and I would prefer to avoid playing at night in front of a crowd reaching fever pitch, while the slower pace of a day game in the heat would probably help our style.

Defending by oth teams is shocking but it's making for an entertaining game. Bul should have been 2 u0p by half time but Cyp have come in to it a lot and should have drawn level. How the Bul defender stayed on when he pulled down the Cyp centre forward is beyond me ! home town decision if i ever saw one...

Bulgarians look like they got a big boost from getting a point from us. Look a different team today. Bit wobbly at the back but they are pouring forward in numbers.

Last ditch defending from the Cypriots prevents another goal.

The heat is always a problem for Irish players. Against Albania in 2003, they struggled to cope at home!!!

It will be very hostile out there no matter when it's played.

Best to play at night, when it's a bit more bearable.

Another great chance missed by Cyprus - Konstantinou kinda one-on-one but slipped so didn't get much power on the shot. Easy save for keeper. Still a hope though, 11 minutes left, 1-0 Bulgars.

Didn't see the first half but the Bulgarians have been comfortably the better team in the second. Cyprus have had a couple of chances but the Bulgarians have had a few as well.
