Not too bad consdiering there about 2 weeks on sale, but would've expected much more. The club or someone associated with it said at the start of the season the town is still buzzing about the prospect of European football, but obviously after a 13 year exile from European football, there not selling as fast as we all expected, i'd say everyone here has bought one at this stage anyways, is there any posters or advertisements in town to promote this ? I remember last year there was a huge poster near O Connell street promoting the legends match, surely this can be done again for something our team is involved in ?.

I was in early enough for the game last friday to get one actually, when the numbers were actually fairly low :).

I don't think anybody expected them too sell out quick. The bulk will be sold the week before the game i'd say.

I didnt say I expected them to sell out this quick, I mean I would've expected the to be selling better with the regular fans and those who attend say every few games and who will turn out for the big games. We were in the 2000+ attendance numbers this season so no reason it shouldnt sell out anyways.

I assume they are gona have to keep back a minimum of 5% of the ticket allocation for the away fans. So in fact the home side ticket total is actually 2565.

I'm holding out as I don't know if I can attend until the date of the home leg is announced.

Looking at various flights with the draw only 8 days away, thought Malta was going to be one of the cheapest but it is €280-320 with ryanair when checking for flights for the first/second leg.

Big hope on Wales/San Marino/Andorra, ranging from €70 and €200

Link below is Eurosport's TV coverage for the day of the draw, not listed?

Whats the story with the draw, is it going to be regionalised or not?
Cause knowing our luck with draws its Kazakfookingstan all the way.

im sure ya would, but for the fans who wouldnt be able to afford it , which id say is the majority , a game closer to home would be ideal.

Boo_Boy

Yeah it is very costly to fly there tbh, don't think i could afford it myself.

let's hope we get a draw close to home as the club does not need any extra expense. things are tough enough as it is.

Got sent this this morning some potentially brutal trips in the first round but assuming as seeded team we can get through their is some nice potential ties in the second round including Red Star Belgrade and Randers.

and Rangers. That would be Randers of Denmark...Rangers won the Scottish league and are in Champions League.

EDIT: It seems we can't get Andorra or San Marino anymore...chances of a cheap trip have gone down:(.

I should of went to specsavers , didn't realise Rangers won the league as don't follow that scottish crap , Randers looks nice on Wiki but bit of a trek to the carlsberg brewery though , best to hope for a welsh or NI team in the first round.

Why ?

Why ?It looks like their teams enter in the 2nd round now. Don't know why the change though.

Rory H

Dooley said he'd do Armenia in four hours.

Some nightmare trips there. Once the draw is made suppose we'll have to get on to the club before anything really to see if they'll be chartering a flight etc.

SligoBrewer
17/06/2009, 11:58 AM
If we could get in on the charted flight it would be unreal.

Rory H
17/06/2009, 11:59 AM
Why???

SligoBrewer
17/06/2009, 12:58 PM
It would save trying to book individual flights which will go up in price as we all book it.
It would save trying to mess around with train timetables etc as we would be flying as close as we could to wherever.
In saying that, the club would be taking a massive risk in taking it on. A risk too big to have it happen imo.

The Europa League cup-holder spot will not be used because Shakhtar Donetsk have already qualified for the Champions League. Therefore certain clubs get byes down through the draw. This is why Derry are into QR2 and not QR1.

Best of luck to Sligo on Monday. I hope you get the draw you're looking for.

They'll hardly hold the draw while you're at work. I'm sure they'll ring beforehand to see what time your break is.:ball:

Please god give us Malta, Wales, Luxembourg. Only one's I can really afford after looking at flight prices. Norn Ireland would be alright, good for the club as it wouldn't be too pricey but would be a ****e trip.

Live coverage
The draw ceremonies – which will be covered live on uefa.com – will be conducted by UEFA President Michel Platini and UEFA General Secretary David Taylor.

EDIT: I wonder does this mean it will be live video stream, or will the website be updated as teams are drawn?

It has to be a good draw!

The draw has been streamed the last couple of years, so I'd imagine it'd be the same. if you can't stream (in work/school etc) UEFA will have little graphics that are almost as quick as a live draw (presuming you have flash)

I dont give a damn where it is as long as we are paired with a team worse than us and we progress....although saying that and nearby draw would be nice!

Going by this http://www.uefa.com/competitions/uefacup/news/kind=1/newsid=839710.html it looks like we will be getting a team from either Albania, Kazakstan, Malta, Faroe Islands or Luxembourg.

Can onlu hope for Faroe Islands for the short trip or Malta for the great weather :D.

You knew well one of the possible opponents would be Kazakhstan, must be the furthest and possibly most expensive trips! Either way lets hope we get a draw that favours us.
