Sligo Rovers full-back Seamus Coleman was identified by the manager of Ireland’s U21 squad, Don Givens, as a potential full International with Ireland when Givens named his 18 player squad for the friendly International against Germany on February 10.

Where will you get the budget for a decent CEO?
Decent management people are worth their weight in gold and companies reward them accordingly!
Unless of course someone of that ilk was willing to work for a minimal or free?
What about Vincent Nally. He,s already involed with the rovers would be the prefect candidate.Retired from hanleys perfect man for the job!

They were two prospective loan signings according to everton's site.

Good value for everton if true, considering the price of sterling to the euro at the moment. Really interested to know if there is any add-on's in the contract.

Coleman “completes Everton move”
Irish under-21 defender Seamus Coleman has completed his move from Sligo Rovers to Barclays Premier League side Everton, according to reports on Thursday morning. Coleman has been targeted by several clubs since the League of Ireland season came to an end in November.
Celtic, West Ham United, Ipswich Town and Birmingham City were all interested, but the 20-year-old Donegal man is believed to have put pen to paper at Goodison Park in a deal worth a reputed £150,000 to Sligo.

Despite rumours of a transfer to Everton, Sligo Rovers defender Seamus Coleman this morning trained with his League of Ireland teammates as usual, fuelling further confusion as to his footballing future.
Earlier reports suggested that Everton had signed Coleman in a deal worth £150,000. The English Premiership outfit were rumoured to have fought off competition from Glasgow Celtic, Birmingham City and Ipswich Town to land the 20-year-old.
However extratime.ie have learned that the Irishman's future is less than clear. Everton Youth Academy Assistant, Jonathan Williams, had "not heard anything" about such a transfer when contacted by us this morning. Dermot Brannigan, Sligo Rovers Media Officer, informed us that there had been no signing yet and that "he was at training this morning." This is obviously contrary to reports from English newspapers claiming, today, that a deal has already been struck.

Irish daily mail today says 65k with add ons based on 1st team appearances and international caps. So he probably has to make x amount of appearances for the add ons.
Who negotiated that, Walter Mitty?

Very poor deal for Sligo for a quality U21 international player who was recently plauded by Givens as a player who could make it to the top at all levels seem another LOI player gone for buttons:mad:

I might be wrong but would'nt we have got some compensation if he signed for another team at the end of the season because he's under 22.
Im probably wrong....

For an U-21 and U-23 international, at the age of 20, and already touted as a future full international I would think it's not great, last year of contract or not...

I don't think your wrong. When the rumours started about him moving to Celtic or Birmingham, it was said we would recieve the transfer fee and 100k compensation. We could do with that now.

i know we would all love to get more money but due to the predicament
the club is in financially the deal had to be done. everybody must remember that it will cost just short of e1m to run sligo rovers this year and gate receipts might top k300 so its a huge gap to fill. our priority now should be to try and keep paul and raise monies so that he can get a few extra players

Quality player
What a **** week in the history of Sligo Rovers.
You're not wrong there.
This sounds like a dense question but anyways: Does the 70k ( according to today's evening herald ) go towards the 60k required or is it a seperate item?
Maybe I've missed something but if the 70k for Coleman wasn't in the budget that got approval, then Cook ( or the MC ) say that an extra 60k is needed and we sell him for 70k, then surely that's problem solved???
Please can somebody clarify this? I've a "potential investor" in the 2 euro fundraiser here asking the question!

i believe k60 up front and add on depending on making the breakthrough and 1st team appearance. so from the short term view the 60k will now pay the players wages up to the start of the season. remember the weekly bidget approx k9 x 6 weeks before we kick a ball in anger . total payout before seasons start approx k54. so as i have said before that is why we need to generate as much revenue immediately to have some hope of getting paul cook back at the helm. by the way deadline is valentines day!
