Is the snow really that bad? It seems the country falls apart with a little bit of snow. Surely all major roads & cities should be unaffected & just hilly rural roads blocked?
It is currently taking 2hours+ from Dublin City centre to middle of Chapelizod by pass due to an accident.

Same as in London. Transport network absolutely crippled. Was stranded in Madrid airport waiting for a flight to Heathrow that was cancelled in the end. Got to Gatwick only to find all buses cancelled and delays on most tube lines. madness.

Not left work let so don't know what like out there. Snow is a novelty in Dublin city & I thankfully don't have far to go...
Its like an episode of 24 - we are 24 hours away from total anarchy
Worse weather on the way, traffic at a crawl all the way home for me and many neighbours not able to get home.
I've been busy.
No snow in Limerick, just fun times
None up this way, feckin freezin though.

Termonbarry Athletic TID!
Played football in the snow just now, not too bad, just a light dusting. Feckin' freezing too! Still a huge red mark above my knee where it got a thump of a ball.
Loks like we might get a good lash of it here overnight.
more bass
Streets very quiet in Dublin city at 9pm on way home with light snow. Of course some learner female driver in a Ford Ka was so alert she drove down the quays with no lights on
Any sign of local authorities salting the main roads?

and it's not gonna be four
it's more likely to be 5-1.
Meanwhile, it's a clean, clear, crisp night in Kerry, ne'er a sniff of that magical white powder that seems to energise and excite many people far beyond normal levels.
I can actually only remember one occasion in my ever-increasing lifetime when we got a decent covering of snow in non-mountain areas down here. I was about 10 and had a couple of great days. Alas, it was a brief and one-off dalliance; but it's a long-term memory!

Still snowing outside at the moment too
Just back in from a 1am snow stroll, with the missus, around Tallaght. It's fantastic, good blanket all over and nice fluffy stuff falling consistently. If anyone is passing Watergate park in the morning have a look out for my totem snow man on the top of the hill! Have to say I picked a great couple of days to have annual leave
And here I am enjoying it:
