It's also on Setanta as far as I know.
I can't get Channel 5 in Dublin (even on digital) but I could always get it on the normal TV aeriel in Dundalk..
Just incase people were wondering what channel this match is on, its on channel 5 uk no matter where it ends up. A bit random!!

As far as i can see, setanta have the majority of ireland away fixtures with the exception of the georgia match and the italy game. RTE have the home games along with SKY. The only tv channel that is listing a showing of the georgia game is channel 5 uk. I remember from the past that RTE have a good relationship with channel 5 when both shared coverage so they may get coverage in the end. Is it only in dublin that channel 5 does not work on SKY digital?
lads is it possible to tune channel 5 in on the sky box ?
Was he crazy!! Yeah , in a very special way , an Irishman.
I slept, and dreamed that life was Beauty;
I woke, and found that life was Duty.
If you have an Irish Sky card try turning the card upside down and putting it back in the box. This normally resets the box to default channels (ie a UK sky card with Ch5). Then simply put the card back in the normal way after and it will go back to RTE etc. Works for me in the UK.
no Channel 5 is Free to View not Free to air so you need a card.
however for £20 you can get a card sent to a UK address and it will work in an Irish SKY box. Still time if you are quick.
See

See FAQ tell them you hav ethe equipment and just need the card - £20 fee.
You need a UK address and the person at the address to forward the card to you.
no you can't because RTE have signed a deal with SKY that you must be a subscriber to get RTE. Cancel your sub and you lose RTE. The UK government wouldn't allow their citizens to be screwed like that so they forced SKY to produce these cards for a nominal one off fee for UK citizens.
You can however subscribe to SKY from Ireland, take your card and box to the UK and it will work there. You'll need a FTV card then for Channel 5. You will need to tune in the extra BBC (3 & 4) and all the ITV channels on other channels.
Aren't Setanta competing with RTE for viewers on these qualification games? Like RTE have all home matches, but RTE and Setanta have away matches.
As I said above im pretty sure RTE have the georgia game due to it being on channel 5, and some have seen adverts to confirm this on RTE. The Italy away game has not been signed up by anyone as of yet with probably SKY getting it due to their monopoly in terms of money. All other away games are definately on Setanta only.
I do not see the point of an Ireland game that is not shown in Ireland, quite disgraceful really.
RTE have the Georgia game I have seen a few adverts for it. Away games are usually up in the air for a while. RTE have all the home games and the away games are on a match by match basis. RTE have Georgia, and Setanta have Montenegro. Not sure about the Italy and Bulgaria and Cyprus as I would say they have not been signed up yet.
