Solid game 2nite. Had a couple of nervous moments in the 1st half. The pitch was in an awful state. Couldn't have been blamed for the goal, some keepers would have saved it tho. Had a good second half and came off his line well when it mattered. Can be happy with his performance

I haven't seen it but according to BBC live text:
Massive, absolutely massive. From a corner, the ball gets to Alex Baptiste at the back post. His overhead kick hits Curtis Davies, with the ball falling to Stephen Dobbie, whose effort squirms under Colin Doyle and into the net. Blackpool, again, could be on their way to Wembley.
So, he could have done better in the first leg and then this. Sorry, but that's what I said ages back on this thread: he has everything but just lets in soft goals. Even his debut on loan for Forest (v Spurs, FA Cup?) involved a howler. In Giants Stadium the equaliser for Bolivia(?) was through his legs. Shots that could be saved get by him. I'm not sure that can be ironed out at this stage.
Saw the goal and it was poor on his behalf. Ball was loose in the box, Doobie got a shot off at Doyles near post, there cant have been more than a foot between Doyle and the post and somehow it got through there. Doyle got down to it but seemed to land on top of it and the ball squirmed in the net. Defo a large fault for the goal.
From an Irish point of view, who would we want to get promoted? Blackpool have no Irish in their squad. West Ham have Joey O'Brien and Henderson.
Birmingham have pulled 2 back so they're still in contention.
Poor by him again, seem him do this a couple of times,
He's worth a goal to any half decent opposition
I think he is an excellent shot stopper but is prone to gaffes.
My Guarantee
Am looking for old Irish matches on VHS, PM me if you have some and I'll upload them here
I think this one flew under the radar. Lee Clark has given Doyle a new two-year contract in spite of bringing Darren Randolph. Seems two Irishmen will be fighting it out for the number one shirt this year.
Also, Doyle was brought on up front for Birmingham at Shamrock Rovers on Monday after Matt Smith got injured.

A forgotten man in my ways. No doubt he has the ability but just never has seemed to kick onto the next level when needed. Still plenty of time. Apparently has made some really good saves in the Cup at home to Swansea tonight. Still young in GK terms, just 28.

Before being unceremoniously dropped at the weekend.
Roger Fairclough, 47, a pharmaceutical sales manager from Aldridge, also left at half-time. He said: “I’m a season ticket holder, I go home and away. I’ve got my two boys down here and following on from the Blackburn game I just saw nothing different.
“What was really frustrating was that they played Darren Randolph from the start after Colin Doyle played his heart out at Blackburn and then we just capitulated.”
In fairness Darren was at fault for only one of the eight conceded. Doyle is a fone keeper he might do a forde if he gets a break at a club
Moving to Blackpool. Hopefully at the tender of 29, he might play regular football.
