He is just burnt out and the heart isn't their 100% to give up all the time and effort needed so he is taking a break to see if the hunger returns

He looked like he didn't have the heart for it last year in fairness, and not just because he was playing for us. He's been around a long time by LOI standards though he's only what 28 or so?.

Aaron Shanahan has officially signed for us. He was in goals last night. Athlone was his last club I believe.

that sounds about right.. he has bein on the scene for eight years or so..

Gareth Cronin was interviewed on the longford leader website and he confirmed that Shanahan signed from athlone!

Started playing for us aged about 16 I would say. atfconline might have the date of his debut

in that case hes probably better off having a break.. I remember that happened with our own Stephen Kelly seven years ago when he was out of football for seven months

Terrific signing, he has missed our last 5 games through injury and we have only picked up one point. Huge loss to Harps.
