Dublin City 0-1 Set Piece City/McKeon

Very, very frustrating. Why did Robbie Horgan start? Why wasn't Foy replaced with Brennan when it became clear that he was, to lapse into the vernacular if one may, boll*xed? How could we dominate a game for 75+ minutes and only create one decent chance (a chance which Cottsy should have buried)?

And most importantly, WTF was McKeon playing at? He made his intentions clear by booking Paul Crowley in the first minute for a desperately late but totally harmless challenge. He then went on to award every single 50/50 (or even 20/80) decision to Cork City. Having seen them almost take the lead (very much against the run of play) with one erroneously-awarded free that hit the post, he evidently decided it would be a lark to award them another (for no discernible reason) in the same position a few minutes later, from which they eventually scored off a rebound (Robbie should have reacted more quickly to both shots.) There's no obvious reason why he should have favoured Cork City so overwhelmingly, unless he's just a sadist who picks one team to p*ss off in each game he handles. This is the only possible explanation.

Brian Kerr was sitting beside me, I think my constant swearing at McKeon and kicking the (empty) seat in front of me after Cottsy's miss may have startled him.

Service to the forwards was very hesitant, and we never got any momentum going. Defensively we were okay, Cork only began to open us up when we became perceptibly tired in the final ten minutes and began playing a formation which looked something like 2-1-4-3. Still, if that's a championship contender, we should be okay.

AAAAARGGGHHH. Another one that got away. Can't aford to make it any more of a habit than it already is.

    Eh?!?!

I was at the game and thought McKeon gave a lot of very dubious decisions against Cork (one in particular when a Cork player was tackled from behind but McKeon gave a Dublin City free for pushing), while the Dublin City number seven got away with just a warning after practically headbutting a Cork player! The first minute booking was a definite yellow - you said yourself how late it was!

I don't know if it was possible for either team to have had the run of play in that game - one of the worst I've seen in a long time. There were only a handful of decent attempts on goal, while the passing from both sides was atrocious on another dire pitch. Dublin City have a lot to do if they're going to stay in the Premier, while Cork have a lot to do if they're going to avoid mid-table mediocrity this season.

Methinks the stress is getting to you!

For f*cks sake lads, cop yourselves on.
We are way beyond you lot, its SPA your competing with.
Hmmmmmm....that goal you scored against us was a set-piece so maybe you do deserve that title.
All well lads, back to your relegation struggle. Say hello to Cobh for us........

Well why couldn't you get the win and the 3 points so?
Why are you 10 points behind us, when we are actually not having a great season?
Cork City are WAY beyond CHFEDC, as are most other clubs in the league.

Concidering most of our squad are first division players , what i saw last night of Cork City, i wouldn't be crowing this early in the season.

I'm not crowing at all. As for saying your squad is made up 1st division players, that kind of excuse is useless up here. Either compete in the premier division, or decide to go back to your squad's level.
We played fairly poorly away from home last night, but still came away with the 3 points.
Thats the vast difference between us and you.

patsh - lost 3-1 1st day - now lose 1-0 at home - its incremental improvement - I fully expect Gillers new boys to take at least a point from cork in your next meeting - they know what they're about

having seen both, I can safely say Dublin City are the better outfit and are heading in a good direction, Cork city on the other hand are a veritable shambles

I'm worried for St Pats to be honest. Their fans are more concerned with prophesising doom for their former messiah than the fact that they will go down if CHFHFFEDCFC sign another one or 2 quality players
