The Irish were dominant. McShane was imperious at centre half, Andrews bossed the midfield and Lawrence really came into his own after Kelly was sent off. Robbie was just having an off day in front of goal. Unfortunately he found the Paraguayan keeper in great form. Lets hope he has sharpened up following his loan spell at Celtic for 2nites game

Ireland
Giovanni Trapattoni has taken the opportunity to blood new players in recent behind-closed-doors friendlies but will mostly revert to the old guard tonight. Keiren Westwood will start in goal while Paul McShane will fill in at centre-back. Meanwhile, there is a welcome return for John O'Shea, injured since the play-off in November.
Line-Up: Westwood; Kelly, McShane, St Ledger, O'Shea; Lawrence, Andrews, Whelan, Duff; Doyle, Keane
Paraguay
Lucas Barrios is in line for his debut while Gerardo Martino has a clutch of injury problems to contend with. Oscar Cardozo, Nelson Haedo Valdez (thigh) and Edgar Benitez (ankle) head the list of absentees. Also left behind in France are Diego Baretto, Edgar Baretto and Julio Manzur.
Probable Line-Up: Bobadilla; Da Silva, Caniza, Alcaraz, Vera, Rodriguez; Santana, Riveros; Gamarra, Barrios, Santa Cruz
great predatory instinct from Doyle to make it 1-0... great start all round.
edit: it just said "2010 World Cup qualifying" when the score flashed up - moral compensation from Blatter perhaps??

Quality not great but not the worst
savage strike from Lawrence! Have to say ive been very impressed.
Nice goal from Lawrence, commentator thinks it may have too a bit of a deflection, but probably on target anyway.
Pretty good going so far, Paraguay not much of a threat.
I'm watching the second stream, given above, it seem pretty reasonable quality for a web-stream, especially the adverts, lol.

That 4th ref has a tidy little protective cubicle laid on for him.
A left over sin bin from the rugby game perhaps?

Is that really Stan?
Sky Sports 1/2 time pundit/presenter,
'Twapattoni should be content'
Is anybody listening to the ESPN (USA) cast on Iraqgoals. The absolute idiot of a colour commentator, some Polish reject called janoz, has been calling Robbie Keane - Roy Keane since the start of the game, and just now has said it correctly for the first time. Good feed though and Ireland are moving well. Some of the visitors look under pressure yet are trying to play to some sort of slow passing system.
Well worked goal from Paraguay.
poor from McShane, he jumps in like that and defense loses shape. Its defending 101. If he stands off him a bit its probably a different outcome.
Think I have lost my stream (number 2),
A proud moment, Cavans first ever cap as cillian comes on
It's back.
