Ian Harte has been offered a contract for next season by Carlisle. Glad to see he managed to get a run in the team towards the end of the season.

there are a lot of Catholics playing for the north now 3 or 4 are Celtic players . Mc Ginn , Mc Court, Daniel Lafferty , and a goal keeper lad ( cant think of his name) also Se�n Webb, Chris Baird , M 'o Connor , Tony kane and sammy clingan, I actually like to see this mix , I support both irish teams but believe there should really only be team.

St Ledger scores in the playoff game v Sheff Utd last night and put in yet another good performance.

Eddie Nolan got another 90 mins for Preston adding to him gaining more big game experience.

Wayne Hendersson back at Preston and fully fit after his successful loan spell at Grimsby, now aiming to push for his 1st team place and get back into the Ireland squad next season.

Stephen Hunt was an unused sub for Reading today in their first leg match against Burnley. Reading lost 1-0, Kevin Doyle started up front alongside Shane Long but was subbed off after 40 minutes. Surely injury was the reason? Not on TV over here in Canada. Noel Hunt was not in the matchday sixteen but Jay Tabb did play the full 90 in midfield.

Keith Andrews scored his fourth goal of the season. Three of these have come away from Ewood Park, and this was the first time he scored in a game Blackburn went on to lose
Liam Lawrence picked up his eighth booking of the season in only playing 20 games.
As a comparison, Rory Delap was booked in the same game. This was his third booking of the season, in 34 games.
Graham Kavanagh scored his sixth goal of the season
James McKeown made his first appearance of the season, in the last game of the season. Before this, the goalkeeper had been an unused substitute 33 times!
Cliff Byrne scored for the second time in two games, his first strikes of the season
Mark Yeates notched his thirteenth goal of the season. A prolific return for the midfielder, almost doubling his tally of eight for 2007/2008
Scott Davies signed off the season with his fourteenth goal from midfield
John Thompson ended his season on a high, opening his account by scoring twice in the final game!
Jamie McCarthy scored his fifth and sixth goals of the season, only one of these came away from home. Hamilton failed to lose a game this season when the midfielder scored

Concidentally, Sean St Ledger also scored and was booked. This was the defender's fifth goal and fourth booking
Keith Fahey scored his fourth goal of the season, and second in two games
Congratulations to defender Mark O'Brien on making his debut. At only 16, I'm pretty sure he's the youngest Irish player to make an appearance this season

Dean Kiely had an absolute stormer yesterday and was the undoubted man of the match. Some incredible saves were made. I've no sympathy for Tony Mowbray if he's as stubborn as to pick Scott Carson ahead of Kiely all season, at least he showed him how wrong he has been all along. Good to see that he can still do a job, put some goalkeeping worries at ease...

I believe that Dean Kiely is a better goal keeper than Carson and should have seen more first team football this season.

Albion would have been better spending the money spent on Carson on an outfield player probably a striker that could get the odd goal.

It's amazing how Carson got so many accolades from the BBC this year. It's easy to look good in goals in a struggling team. I've felt all year that WBA would be far more solid with Deano in goal and yesterday went some way to proving that. The crowd were well on his side too.

Being a top keeper isn't about making a flamboyant save at 2-0 down, it's about making smart saves at 1-0 up or 1-1.

The paper I read slated Kiely for the equaliser but whilst I think he could have saved it it had taken a pretty wicked deflection and he wasdn't to blame.

His save down low to his right was top class.

The double save in the first half was almost as impossible to pull off as the certain goal he stopped at the Cottage vs. Columbia last May. That save was astonshlingly good. Anyone remember it?

He was fantastic against Columbia. Really no clue why he wasn't given a chance for West Brom before now.

Carson isn't a bad keeper per se, but I would call him overrated, and certainly there's not much in it between Kiely and him (based on what I've seen I'd pick Kiely every time).

Old player but he's still got it. Glad to have him back in the squad as I rate him higher than the likes of Henderson and Kenny.

No clue how he stands up against Westwood, but in my view the best 3 Irish keepers are in the squad so I'm happy enough.

Born in Newcastle, and capped for England at U-19 level. Hasn't been involved with England since he broke curfew a couple of years ago.

I think it's only U-21 caps that "lock you in" once you're past 21 (he's 20), so if he is eligible through parents/grandparents I think he could still play with us.

No clue on his roots though so until we know that information it's not really worth discussing.

Maybe someone should drop the FAI a line to investigate?

I'm almost 100% sure he was the subject of a "tug of war" between England & Scotland.....don't think we were ever in the mix for him

I hope Dean gets a run out for the Nigeria game he is a real class act and only for Shay is world class he would have a poo load more caps. I cant believe Mowbray
( or however you spell his name , didnt play him all season when that bum Carson let in so many.

It will be interesting to see who Billy Clarke signs for.

If he has been released for nought he should be able to negotiate himself a decent contract given his end of season form.
