I would be expecting Lawrence to be in the next squad, the only two others I would take from that list is Kenny, with Given's injuries these days & McPhail. I may be wrong but McPhail may be a bit too lightweight for an international player.

San Marino are going to be a handful as the group goes on." - Steve Staunton reacts to performance against San Marino.
as far as i know the kevin nolan thing is a no go now since the window closed....
Yeah, I mean are there even 20 midfielders playing in the championship or above that are Irish? Some of these I would barely have heard of so how Ciaran could easily do so is beyond me. I personally think that Rowlands did okay the last time he was selected for Ireland. Not 100% sure, as they were a long time ago and I only saw them once, but he didn't seem to stand out as being a weak link.
My concerns are global. I reject absolutely revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method, is love. I love you Sheriff Truman.

A few of those are quite iffy. So would you rather have Kavanagh playing on the wing than say Tabb or Rowlands? The funny thing is that at the start of the season you probably would have said the same about Lawrence as you're saying about the 3 midfielders you don't rate.

And no mention of John Joe O'Toole. Only one decent start so far for the u21's, but making a good impression in the Championship with Watford.
He has to be one of the young players jockeying for a squad place.
I would have O Toole and Garvan in that list no problem.
In Trap we trust
What are you on about...You made a daft throw away remark, indeed an exageration; saying there are 20 players ahead of those mentioned above. Now when pushed on the matter you've managed to find 20 midfielders who are playing at a reasonable level and included them in there ahead of them. Your post is absolute sh*te. Coleman described Tabb last week as a 'little gem', whilst the other week removed the captaincy from Michael Doyle. Also, QPR have been subject to a recent takeover and despite a mass influx of players Rowlands has managed to keep his place.
That only demonstrates a minor point, the fact of the matter is, your list is bull, does not ring true, and anyone who watches these players on a regular basis knows that.
Are we talking about a friendly here or a qualifier? If a qualifier (or one of Trapp's first two matches) I see no reason anymore than 3-4 of them should be called. If, for example, the Norway friendly, I don't see any reason why 6-8 of them shouldn't get called and play at least half an hour.

not to mention the fact that he's currently captaining QPR aswell.
I think its deffo worth calling up a lot of these guys for the training camp. Why not? sure it'll help Trap get to know what he's dealing with as regards backup players for injuries and also lets the players know that if they knuckle down and play well then they have the chance of being in future squads.
Ciaran - about half of your list is absolute bull and the other half is just obvious. I'd deffo be willing to give Rowlands and Tabb a chance in the squad ahead of most of the guys below #8 (bar Kilbane obviously!!)
"Well I think they'll be a little disappointed with that" - Matt Holland on TV3 after 5-2 drubbing by Cyprus
I will never admit to being an expert on all thing football related and most posters on here have a better knowledge of the game than i do, but when i see posts like this it make me feel a lot better. You are just clutching at straws so as to make your silly comment justifiable which you cant do so you continue to dig.
Anyway if you watched some of these players actually play football from time to time you would have a better idea of their ability. They should be given the chance and let Mr Trapattoni decide if they are good enough or not.
Yeah really. Are you referring to Kevin Kilbane here? If so how many of his 80 caps have been won playing as a left back? He is not good enough for this role imo and we need someone there who is.DD play's there week in week out for QPR,and is our only upcoming left back apart from O Halloran who is injured.Give me a reason why he should not be given a chance here apart from your seasoned international one?
