Instead of going to London, what do you reckon the chances are of getting the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick for an afternoon kickoff? 50,000 capacity and still in our own country.
Spain, Greece & Turkey mooted as opposition.

Its only Croke Park that the GAA opened up.

Well surely thats the thin end of the wedge?
So you reckon there would be 50,000 at a friendly on a Wednesday afternoon in Limerick?

I'm a bloke,I'm an ocker
And I really love your knockers,I'm a labourer by day,
I **** up all me pay,Watching footy on TV,
Just feed me more VB,Just pour my beer,And get my smokes, And go away
OK didnt realise it was a Wednesday but why could there not be 50,000 in Limerick on a Saturday afternoon in the future?
Because of what Neil said. And I'd imagine weekends around the end of May might already be busy for the GAA.

The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist thinks it will change; the realist adjusts the sails.
the vital word there is could, still just a rumour. I would prefer a proper away trip than a trip to London to be honest.

whatever about the gaa, what about thomond park
we looked from Montrose to Swords, from swords to Montrose and from Montrose to Swords again but already it was impossible to spot UCDs right winger
That only holds about 13000, at a squeeze.

Interesting.
Is there any chance the new Thomand Park would ever be used for soccer, internationals or otherwise? Or am I just being daft?
It's available for sacar.

I wish they would but there seems to be grim determination to double and triple up on infrastructure. Some of my fellow shannonsiders are also of the opinion that people won't attend LOI unless it's in a "City centre venue".
I on the other hand contend that, if there was a successful team there competing for things, Limerick could play out of Glin and still get a good crowd. I know there's a chicken and egg conundrum there but there you have it.
I've never understood why, as far as I know, playing football at Thomond Park has never even been discussed.
" I wish to God that someone would be able to block out the voices in my head for five minutes, the voices that scream, over and over again: "Why do they come to me to die?"
