Obviously Kingdom, you share the same tiring repetitive usage of obscure descriptive language in order to mock those who have a 'massive' respect for player stats in a game
James has himself pulled out of games where it was almost a certainty he would have been played by Trap and would have been able to get use to (and be comfortable with) the players around him. Around the Wales game, my opinion was that we should be able to beat Macedonia with what we have, James gets some game time on Saturday and probably a debut against Uruguay. If all goes well he should be starting for the away qualifier.
Is that a dig at me
You think Mccarthy will start in midfield against Macedonia away? I have to remember this post.

It's just an opinion Paul, I couldn't care less about not being right about an opinion (with numerous exceptions of course). Should you be so concerned about remembering this opinion please remember the escape clause/context, "If all goes well he should be starting for the away qualifier."
Opinions are subject to a paradigm shift
I knew well you were going to highlight that bit, I knew well.
I was asking simply "do you think he will start in midfield against macedonia away?" You said above you believed he would have played in previous games had he not been injured, and by the sounds of it embedded in the team by Uruguay game(at least), so why would your opinion change now to be depending on whether or not he does well in the next 2 games?

The simple answer is that he has to prove his ability for us at CM.
Until that is proven, opinions are just a best guess.
Ya thats a fair point, what i was getting at though was in the game against brazil he didn't feature for very long, Trap didn't mark him out for praise, but more importantly he played him out on the right wing. He didn't obviously trust him in midfield, or he didn't believe/realise/know/who knows that his position was midfield, even if he alluded to him playing behind the striker - thats not where he has played for wigan, im not sure at hamilton either - so I don't think he would have featured for us in midfield from the start before christmas, maybe not even as a substitute.

The Brazil game was over a year ago. Trap did talk about James' abilities before he turned up to the squad for that game and he also added that 'we need to look at his quality and personality' "Sure he has talent -- like Rivera, Mazzola, they became very great with experience. They had good quality. It's important when this personality develops. He's fast and confident on the ball. He could be important for us"
Are you saying that in your opinion, Trap would not have started him at midfield in at least one of the friendlies Algeria/Paraguay, considering our available choices then and considering that James had a good period with Wigan?
I can't remember off the top of my head who was in/out/injured for those games, but no I dont think he would have started in central midfield had the likes of gibson and whelan been playing(and andrews not injured?). I don't think he would have started instead of green either who performed admirably in those games. Going on the way he was thinking at the time and how rigid he was in general. I think everyone can see over the last 6 months or so he has definitely changed his way, even the articles today alluded to that. He has adapted.

Old people don't suddenly change a habit of a lifetime and become less rigid. Trap adapts because he is prepared to adapt, he has a habit of adapting.
The perception of rigidity in Trap is often mistaken, he is cautious. He waited to see how McCarthy performed for us in training and in a game.
That's a cautious approach not a rigid approach. The Brazil game enhanced his opinion of McCarthy.
Perceptions like Trap only capping St.Ledger because he had no choice, does not hold water, as both our first choice CH were available then.
David Kelly was re-iterating his usual tiresome nonsense this morning. It's a shame because the article started off quite well written and it contained some witty bits.

However, Trapattoni will still rule his dressing-room with an iron fist.
He may change his style off the pitch. But it is much too late to change his ways on it. He will still have the last word in the dressing-room.
Why shouldn't he have the last word in the dressing room? If he didn't, you'd worry.
He may or may not have a point about Brady's reason for departing.

I'm not sure of DKs remit. I often wonder what his role as a writer for the Independent is. I wasn't just referring to that article though.
Fly has started off a revolution, i think tets and i are still the only ones who don't do the anchor stuff - and in my case its just cos im too lazy.

Ou-est le Centre George Pompidou?
What a sreaming pile of $hite.
That left Trapattoni more front of house than ever which, given that he was once referred to by an FAI official as someone who "likes to do things his way," contained enough peril to merit concern.
That is perilous, a man that likes to do it his way - what, like all the great managers?
A potentially damaging loss to the Scots has thankfully been avoided, but only when Trapattoni was prodded into action by his paymasters.
After all the crap that has gone on for weeks and months, it was Traps meeting with McCarthy that saved the day. Really? Really?
Garbage. Takes its readership for idiots.
I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?
