From Man City's preview of tonight's second leg of the FA Youth Cup, live on Sky Sports
    http://www.mcfc.co.uk/default.sps?pagegid={DBD12D53-8346-431D-A04F-5D0F8664DE80}&newsid=548909
Donal McDermott: A Republic of Ireland International who loves to attack from wide positions often to devastating effect.
Ben says…“Donal's a great player and another one that you don’t like to defend against in training. Despite being a tricky winger he’s a strong lad too and both him and Vlad have done well all season and won us most of our games. They’ve scored goals and made plenty as well – they both love their tattoos – and Donal loves his expensive gear too.

Ian Daly: A Republic of Ireland International striker and second year YT. His strength is his ability on the ball and Ian has one goal from his one appearance during the campaign.
Ben says…“Another one unlucky not to have been in the team too much during this run. Ian’s a really good player with great feet and can score goals. He loves a bit of banter too and is one of our funniest lads with his impressions and sense of humour.”

News on Dom Foley (from UEFA Mini News site)

KAA Gent reached the Belgian Cup final after a 4-0 second-leg win over Eerste Klasse leaders R. Standard de Liège gave them a 6-2 aggregate victory. Trond Sollied's side took the lead on the stroke of half-time through Dominic Foley. Goals from Bryan Ruiz in the 68th minute, Massimo Moia (70) and Gill Vermouth (82) completed the triumph. Gent will now meet either KFC Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen or RSC Anderlecht in the final on 17 May.

Did anyone watch the FA youth Cup last night? How did our lads get on?

Daly didn't play, McDermott played as an outside-left striker. Few decent shots and one in particular drew a great save from the Chelsea keeper at 1-1.

Thanks Tets. Is he still with Man United or have they released him? If Cheltenham were thinking of taking him on loan from Man U I wouldn't have thought they would list him as a trialist.

They keep referring to him in that article however as a Man United player.

My guess is that they are releasing him at the end of the season but they've given him an opportunity before then to find a new club to go to.

Fagan on trial at Colchester now: http://www.cu-fc.premiumtv.co.uk/pag...289873,00.html
Had a run out against Ipswich on Tuesday night: http://www.cu-fc.premiumtv.co.uk/pag...290388,00.html

Seems to have impressed the reserve team manager at Colchester: http://www.colchester.vitalfootball....e.asp?a=106497
'He is from the Manchester United academy and you could certainly see that his movement was excellent.'

'Chris has a willingness to run and learn - his contribution was good but he was probably a bit frustrated that he couldn't get on the ball more than he did.

'He has played two games for us now and the manager will decide what happens next.'

Colchester was good enough for Mark Kinsella for 7 seasons before bigger and better things happened, maybe lightning will strike twice with Fagan.

Wes Hoolahan linked with Sheffield United: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footba...9520-20386889/
Mentions the recent link with Palace as well

Hoolahan on the short list for Blackpool Gazette player of the season: http://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/sp...-of.3948187.jp
    WES HOOLAHAN

He might not have been as effective as last season (but it would have been nigh on impossible to match his tremendous first season in English football), but don't under-estimate the winger's contribution to the Seasiders' cause.

Even at a higher level, he has pulled many a defence apart and created chances for team-mates.

He's also chipped in with six goals (all scored before Christmas), including that most wonderful of chips from the penalty spot at Preston.

Still only 25, we can only hope he's still at Blackpool next season, though I wouldn't hold your breath.
    also
    OTHERS TO CONSIDER:

Ben Burgess has scored more goals than anyone elsein a Blackpool shirt this season
and has shed blood and plenty of sweat for the Tangerine cause.

Just heard on Big League Weekend that Dean Kiely's son, Chris has signed for Gillingham

He's a goalkeeper and was born exactly 6 months before me, thats all I know

His father was born in England so if Dean qualified through his grandparents would Chris not be eligible?

I saw most of the Dundee - Hibs game on Setanta on Sunday. From what I did see, Willo Flood was by far the best player on the park
