What did ofjames say? Controversial and/or funny apparently.

Someone be a ledge and pm me.
I think I should the parachute, because I'm great.

In fact, I think I should get both parachutes, in case one doesn't work.

Finnan did well to set up Gerrard's goal today. He played a 1-2 with someone and then a first time pass to Gerrard. I don't know if it was intended for Gerrard but it was a good move.

Stephen Ireland played (but no Richard Dunne...) as Man City beat Carlstad United of Sweden 4-0: http://www.mcfc.co.uk/default.sps?pa...&newsid=446217
If anyone is worried about Ireland's progress under Sven, he's started every pre-season game so far.

Robbie Keane scored for Spurs in their 2-1 win over Kaiser Chiefs (the South African club, not the band): http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news...ort210707.html
Meanwhile Cian Hughton (Chris' son) played for a Spurs XI as they beat Staines Town 4-2: http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news...xi4210707.html

Chris McCann and James O'Connor played a half each as Burnley drew 1-1 with Middlesbrough: http://www.burnleyfootballclub.premi...076653,00.html

Joe Murphy, Cliff Byrne, Jim Goodwin and Ian Morris all played for S****horpe, while Daryl Murphy started and Liam Miller, David Connolly and Billy Dennehy were all introduced as substitutes for Sunderland in S****horpe's 1-0 win over the Black Cats, with Goodwin getting the assist for the goal
    Sunderland reivew: http://www.safc.com/news/?page_id=12708
    S****horpe review: http://www.s****horpe-united.premium...075959,00.html

Leon Best and Kevin Thornton started for Coventry City with Michael Doyle and Colin Hawkins introduced as substitutes in their 1-1 draw with Northampton Town. Leon Best opened his account for the Sky Blues with the opening goal: http://www.ccfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page...076627,00.html

Stephen McPhail started for Cardiff, and Jason Byrne came on in the second half in their 2-0 win over Yeovil Town, including Gary Dempsey, and Shaun Maher as an unused sub: http://www.cardiffcityfc.premiumtv.c...076623,00.html

Jonathan Hayes and Conrad Logan started for Leicester in their 3-0 win over Notts County, both were substituted at half time: http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page...076625,00.html

Willo Flood scored a debut goal alongside Noel Hunt for Dundee United against Raith Rovers: http://www.dundeeunitedfc.co.uk/inde...d=2637&cd=2007

Aiden McGeady started for Celtic in a 1-1 draw against Chicago Fire: http://www.celticfc.net/news/stories...707225140.aspx
McGeady was substituted for Derek Riordan, who equalised for Celtic

Stephen Elliott and Stephen Gleeson started for Wolves, and Darren Potter , Gary Breen, Andy Keogh and Stephen Ward were all introduced in the second half against Bohemians. Ward scored the equaliser late on

I was flicking through the channels this afternoon, and thought I saw an ad on TG4 for Sunderland's games against Cork, Bohemians and Galway. Was it the hangover deceiving me, or did I really see it?

Stephen O'Donnell, ex-Falkirk, played in the above game for Bohs. There's a possibility that Bohs might sign him but I don't know if he is ready to make the step-up to playing for Bohs.

And AFAIK, the Sunderland games will be on TG4. Should be available on the net as well.

Ade Akinbiyi was a legend at Leicester. His grandmother was Irish. From Cavan.

I think (and hope) he might make the breakthrough with Man U this season.

He signed a three and a half year extension last year.
