Ossie Ardiles' Spurs side which couldn't go 10 minutes without conceding a goal was way worse that Gross' reign.Very unfair to Gross who has won many trophies in Switzerland and has a good record in Europe. He had a disappointing time at Spurs but I believe his record wasn't significantly worse than other Tottenham managers around that time.

If Toshack had ten Premiership players on the pitch like Stan Laurel had (and three more to bring off the bench), the score would have been very different.
At least Toshack is trying to change the way we play the game into a style that will enable us to compete with European teams. We just don't have any kind of cutting edge, at all. That's down to the players we have and not Toshack's fault. Staunton's tactics on Saturday were kick and hope, and that's being kind. sometimes it was just hope.
