26/2 - just like the English were after 7 overs!

I think the target is too much, If Ireland get about 225, that would be a great achievement.

Ireland are playing very aggressively. If luck stays on their side with regards to wickets they may just make it. I think they'll at least reach a double century.

62 for 2 after 15 overs. Beeb saying that England "don't look like taking a wicket"

116/4. Botha out. Niall O'Brien still there with another half century. Needs partners to dig in. It's too much of an ask now to win IMO.

We only need about 15 or 20 of them.

Great Effort by the lads in the end, this might give them so much confidence in the other games, they were not humbled at all and gave England a real fright near the end.

very good showing. great to watch the johnston/white partnership towards the end, humbling the england bowlers!

i agree that johnston didnt look fit to bowl, he seemed to grimace a lot. it was a shame rankin got cramp, we would have had a genuine chance otherwise i think. england were poor by and large, on that display they've no chance of reaching the semis. our boys can be very satisfied with their performance, hopefully we can get a win against the bangladeshis

I think the bowling was our strong point if I be honest, but on the last few games v Windies and Now England, they have some what cracked as it were, need to be much better in the future games.

England are dreadful, they'll be battered by the top teams and I wouldn't be surprised if they only win 1 more game. Ireland should target Bangadesh for the only win the super 8. Legs are getting tired and it will only get worse. I'm not looking forward to Australia, SA etc...

We need our top batsmen to build a couple of decent partnerships. The early wickets are putting pressure on the rest. I'd also like to see Rankin and Lanky bowl 3/4 over spells in the heat rather than 5/6. Rankin has quite along run up and he's looked a bit knackered at times. The last ten overs in each innings have done for us plus their spin bowlers bogged us down. Still Michael Vaughan was a worried looking man at times. We gave them something to think about and weren't disgraced.I wonder how we'll get on against the English Counties this summer after this and will they release their Irish players to us.

Quote of the day had to be David Lloyd who remarked that some of the Irish players could be following Ed Joyce and playing for England soon. Doesn't say much for the young English players coming up

Yep, if Ireland knew how to get the slow bowlers away they would have been in with a chance. It was the same with Chris Gale for the West Indies.

A creditable performance and yes a win over Bangladesh is a possibility and conceivably the Kiwis. Will be nice to get one win anyway and avoid total humiliation against Oz.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

No chance against the Kiwis, they've already beaten England and Sri Lanka. We will be doing well to get another win.
