Looks like Morgan's angling for England which was always his intention anyway. Still a chance for some new blood and good experience for squad members.

It will be valuable experience for the new lads to show what they can do v the top teams hopefully they can get some at the crease. What is Morgan like, turning down his country to play in meaningless tournament that is only for crowd pleasing rather than the players.

BobtheDrog: Well, he should play for a club that want him to play, I bet the England players do not get that treatment towards their clubs.

Dodge: You would think that they would have learned

I was having a look at Ed Joyces recent form & his scores are abismal considering he is/was an England Test player. Is that the future for Morgan...?

His form has completely deserted him since his call up to the English side (bar one century in Australia)

    75-4.

Looks like "extras" could be the biggest scorer.

    107-5 31 overs.

Niall O'Brien doing but could see a collapse once they hit the tail enders.

Ireland finished on 193, having batted out their full allocation. Niall O'Brien made a fairly streak 52, Trent Johnston an entertaining 34. Dominick Joyce look petrified at first but settled down and was hitting it crisply before he departed for 18.

I think that's a respectable total given the number of absentees and the prevailing conditions. India will knock it off in 30-40 overs but it could have been a lot worse. It's a shame that Langford-Smith, Botha and Rankin are injured as conditions are tailor-made for all three of them. Tendulkar was bowling seam-up and making it talk!

    Respectable?

If O'Brien had stayed in with Johnstone would maybe have been good for another 30 runs to make a match of it.

Looks like it is re-starting soon.

I am not convinced that Porterfield is a One-Day Batsman, 16 off 46 is not great going in a 50 over match.

Whelan bowls Tendulkar in his debut over in ODI cricket - one to tell the grandkids.

    Latest score: 16/1

India require 155 off 36 remaining overs (D/L)

    61-1 off 13 overs.

Are Setanta trying to break the world record for adverts per hour? An ad break after every over is a bit much. "International one day cricket brought to you by...."

That's what the mute button on the telly is for.
