Sorry Shels fans, this is the last straw. Shles should be thrown out of the league right now. There is no way they could possibly meet any of the criteria for the new league at this stage. Surely Dundalk or Waterford should be given the chance now?
Reported today that Shels been handed another tax bill of 110k & another winding up order possible.
Just one question - what the hell are Shels doing signing back players on fulltime contracts when they can't pay their other bills???

All of this has happened before. All of it will happen again.
thy are just repeating past mistakes by signing players to full time contracts while at the same time ignoring having big tax bills.how many winding up orders are allowed to be served until something is done???is there a legal limit???how many have they been given in the past few months??
What little credibility Delaney's shiny new league has left will be destroyed if Shels are allowed to enter this season.
At the very least Shels should be relegated to the 1st Division. It'll be a lot easier to sort our their finances in the 1st anyway.
Shels fans - act now or your club will die. Loads of us have been saying this for a few years now. You've chosen to ignore us, this is your last chance.

Given the situation with DC last season where they folded the half way through the season the FAI have to ensure that all clubs that start the league will be able to finish this. I don't know if this covered in the licencing but the FAI must now take responsibility for accessing Shels accounts & receive weekly updates. The league would lose any remaining credibility if Shels folded in the middle of the season knowing its all preventable.
Oily's health notwithstanding, Shelbourne cannot concievably be allowed to compete in the Premier Division next season if they have been issued with yet another winding up notice.
It is (and has been for some time now) common knowledge that they have been gambling on the 'holy grail' for years now with very limited success. You dance with the devil - expect to get burned.
I got no lips I got no bones where there
were eyes there's only space
Can't see the FAI refusing Shels a license, not since Delaney held them up as the way to go last year. Your man from Limerick must be loving this...
Oh and just on a point of order pete, Shels haven't signed anybody. They have the players that are left from last year with contracts. A fair few ex LOI-ers were training with them on Monday though

Personally, I do not want teams in the Premier Divison with money problems, if they are to be in the PD, They have to have some sort of points deduction, for getting in to this mess.
its a disgrace they were even allowed to lift the league title by getting a squad good enough to win yet not being able to pay their wages. Sure every club can do that.
Whats that got to do with Bray and Steve Williams?

Just feed me more VB,Just pour my beer,And get my smokes, And go away
in fairness to bohs, they cut there cloth to suit when appropriate and half there sqaud ended up at $hel$, so yes they can dictate to others, they spent what the could afford (or maybe a little more), had steady income all year round from the bars and car park, and didnt fail to play either the tax man or their players.
Or do you know something the rest of us dont?
I'm sorry for getting into this when there are more importnat things happening at the moment.
I just want to clear one thing up.
Shels fans are unhappy that Ollie used the money from the sale of the ground to fund players wages.
Ollie didn't like the terms of the deal Ossie came back with for more money from the sale of the ground.
Shels players were paid for the 2006 EL season.
To say we didn't have the money is wrong.
The money should never have been spent but it's our money against the asset that his Tolka Park. The debts are still there and still very real and will be paid by a reduction in the final sale price.
The wage bill at present is mostly down to debts run up after the EL season. IF they are not paid I fully agree we should not take part in the 2007 EL but that takes nothing away from the 2006 League win.
Shels have not as yet wiped any debts and are still trading.
Nothing we did last year was in the slightest bit cheating.
It was wreckless, idiotic, stupid, madness, crazy, bananas, suicide, etc etc etc but it was money we have/had/will have.
It's any clubs right to sell their ground and fund 22 players to win the league. Only a mad man would do it but then that doesn't mean it's cheating.
John Delaney!! GET OUT!!!

If they were consistently paid in full and on time, then fair enough..
But they weren't consistently paid in full and on time were they?
Shels most certainly didn't have the money for the squad they'd assembled - and what's more, that fact has been legally proven by your former club captain.
