I can't recall who scored but I'm sure it was Feb '91, as it was our last friendly before the trip to Wembley in March.

Byrne actually picked up a winner's medal in the cup final, there was a mix up in the presentation, and in the interview on the pitch he admitted he had been given a winner's medal and he was off before someone asked him to hand it back!
All goals, yellow and red cards tweeted in real time on mastodon, BlueSky and facebook

Incorrect. Quinn with a header in the first half, Quinn again in the second half and Byrne a few minutes before full time.

    F: Morrison, Macken?
    Subs: S McPhail, P McShane, D Murphy, L Miller, P McCarthy, A Maybury

    Manager: McCarthy (I guess player-manager)

Dont forget for K Mark Kinsella

Joe Murphy is a former u21, I couldnt find any other Irish keepers
Obviously Macken is not the greatest choice but I couldnt remember any other Forwards

He has, I'm sure, at least for Wolves (not sure about Palace)
Lets start with a forward, one of the greatest Irish forwards ever (and Wickow man as well), Andy McEvoy.

Certainly you should also include the great Con Martin, who played right and left back, right half and centre half and even in goal as an international.

If you want a recognised goalkeeper you could try Seamus McDonagh, 24 caps prior to Peyton/Bonner.

I'm 16, have 1/32nd Irish ancestry, but I still managed to become a fan, though only 5/6 years ago. My knowledge basically goes back to a little bit before Jack Charlton came, and the rest is a jumbled mess, with Eamon Dunphy and Don Givens and Eoin Hand in there
    My Guarantee
Am looking for old Irish matches on VHS, PM me if you have some and I'll upload them here

Yep, you're right... Was just going to correct myself...

John Byrne is well up there in the list of most underrated Irish players, though. Remember him scoring twice out in Turkey as well in '91.
