playoff what???!?!!?![]()
theres way way too much criteria to meet to have to get into this new league. i woke up this morning to a text message saying that there will be play-offs and that if we dont get into them, we cant get promoted. now i find out the play-off will only help point allocation.
the sooner this league is over and they announce there final decision on whos gonna be in this league the better because everybody seems to have different opinions on whats gonna happen and new things keep popping out of nowhere

if a certain MASSIVE CLUB FROM TALLAGHT dont get up by winning the league they will have the playoff to try and win, what i wouldnt give to beat them in/to the playoff(depending the format of it),how sweet would that be.what a joke though,i just hope the clubs got more prior knowledge then us fans did.

Regardless of what happens, we won't be playing Shamrock Rovers in any play-off.
The play-off is between the 2nd team in the FD and the 11th team in the PD.
Does this mean were not goin to get up if we finish in third or is this playoff thing just a suggestion in the event of Shams not goin up on points etc?
Am I right in thinking that the presentation was a complete waste of time for Nial and his team if its going to a play off?
I'm getting a bit suspicious of handing over the league to the FAI. They keep changing the goalposts. I'll have to read more about this and the joke seems to be that its not on the FAI website.

You can't spell failure without FAI
lets say for example the 11th placed team has infinite number of points ahead of the 2nd in div 1 - what is the point of the playoff then? and as you say stig the points available are small

The e15 thing is based on the overwhelming confidence that we'll be in the PD next year. Based on the on-field criteria, we are just slightly off the top 12. I believe that the other 50pc for off-field will comfortably carry us over.
As regards paying e15, I don't mind for Premier Division games but the quality of football in Division One is certainly not good enough to justify this price.
those prices either, nobody seems to know how much a student season ticket will be btw, anyone care to help??????paying 15 to see us play derry, cork, shels etc will be well worth it,i think if this premier division is marketed right we could have 2500/3000 at most games.but the thing is if we do go up we need a complete clearout of players though,1 step at a time though i suppose,we have to cross a few big bridges before we need to address that.

I just read on Ramblers Website that from next season a club can only spend 65% of it's income on wages. I'm not too sure if ye have a clubhouse or not but if ye don't have a thriving one then ye might need to up the prices of entery to compete. It looks good for Ramblers because its clubhouse has a good customer base and makes good profit. I thought the FAI will be standardising prices though? maybe not.
that rule where clubs can only spend 65% of its income on wages isnt coming into affect until 2008 but most clubs are trying to get to that level and maintain it, instead of just having to slash the wage bill in 2008

last fridays result doesnt effect our IAG rating that much at all,so this adds more fuel to the raging fire because as i thought it we needed to finish in the top 2 but last fridays result will probably mean we dont finish in the top 2(i realise we still can though).or maybe it just means that this was just 1 result and its taking into account results of last 4 seasons that counts, that could be it too.
