Refusing to acknowledge that there may be some players playing well outside the top 4 teams like for example Given while there is a general consensus that Rooney is having a crap season by his standards.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

Too many players playing out of position, Toure is a centre back and Lampard is never a left winger. Vidic is a better defender than Ferdianand also.No balance in the centre either with Gerrard and Scholes.

Gallas and Henry and Given have missed large parts of the season through injury, surely that rules them out.

I'm aware of that Neil but when they have been involved they've been pretty good as per usual.

Going with overall ability I'd go for

    --------------------------------Given-------------------------------------

    --G. Neville-----------Terry---------------Toure--------------------Gallas--

    ---Hleb---------------Fabregas------------Alonso------------------Giggs---

    -------------------Henry------------------Shevchenko--------------------

Going on form David Bentley, Ronaldo, and Drogba would have to included somewhere, and I'd have to think about dropping Gallas due to long layoffs this season

Do people really think that Gallas is a better left back than Ashley Cole?
Gallas is far better at centre back and Cole , odious ***** and all that he is , is still a fine left back

I wouldn't. Riise, Heinze, Bridge, Queudrue are better.

    I'd have Gallas as a centre-half though.

Cole is one of the most overrated players in the game. He's a poor man's Terry Phelan. Lots of pace but not a lot else.

Comparing him to Terry Phelan is overrating him, at least Phelan could defend occasionally, Cole is classic case of a quick player who hasn't had the need to develop any other facet of his game.

i think ashley cole is having an awful season, his saving grace is touted as his pace but ive seen him outpaced on numerous occasions this season, i remember saying it in at least 5 matches..can only think of agbonlahor at the moment but i'm certain of it. i'd pick gallas ahead of him all the time, though matty taylor gets my vote on form, and probably ability too. funny how the thread starter entitled the topic 'your premiership 11 and then named 25 players!!

James; neville, toure, terry, taylor; lennon, essien, scholes, ronaldo; doyle, henry
