No Somos muchos pero estamos locos.
Ah, the twice a year Robbie Keane to Celtic rumour is doing the rounds again I see.
Its around March to May and October to December usually, journalists have nothing to talk about with the transfer window closed...Celtic fans seem happy to forget that 1) they couldn't afford his transfer fee, 2) they couldn't afford his wages, 3) he wouldn't lower himself to the SPL anyway...
And then the transfer window opens, Keane goes nowhere near Glasgow and everyone gets on with their lives, until the whole pointless stupid cycle kicks off again a few months later.
A load of crap. For what its worth he probably will wash up there when he's 34 or 35 and he's looking for an easy going year or two before he retires. Just like Roy.
Celtic fans are more than aware of the 3 points above, hence why the sane amongst us do not take a blind bit of notice of the rumours in the tabloid rags. Its not Celtic fans writing the $hite is it?
Its horse$hit and has been for the last 6 or 7 years that I remember reading this same recycled nonsense.
EDIT:Agreed it will probably be in his twilight when he arrives, do bugger all, we will cover his costs in merchandise sales and it will be a non event.
I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?

The seemingly unthinkable happened and Robbie missed a penalty against Everton, though it seems he was able to score on the rebound.

It's good news.
He is statistically due to miss 1/10 on the first attempt.
Better it happens while with Spurs and for Spurs it is better he misses in that Carling Cup.
Did the keeper save it? It's a little known fact that if a player takes a penalty and it rebounds back off the woodwork without another player touching it, the taker cannot touch the ball again. If he does, it should correctly be an indirect free kick to the defending team.
I didn't know that. I suppose it makes sense otherwise the penalty taker could dribble a bit closer before giving it a good whack.

I saw the goal on Sky Sports News and I don't think it could be classified as scoring from the rebound. As Worm has described there was a hell of a scramble in the box with at least two further attempts on goal before Robbie volleyed the ball home (with a particularly good finish).

keeper saved it, big goal mouth scramble ensued, ball ended up in the air, 6 everton players around him plus howard but keane managed to volley it in
Yea I think he missed the rebound too
There was an almighty scramble the ball bouncing allover the place and then
he volleyed it in over his shoulder I think, which was a good finish but the penalty was rather poor, I think he was expecting the keeper to dive early as he hit it pretty close to him IIRC.

Sixth attempt he said but I only made it five.
He also won the penalty and I think he might get an assist for the first, I didn't think he touched it the first time I saw it, put I think he hit it off the defender, not easy to see.

I didn't know the rule, and I've been playing soccer for 15 years or so. In my head, the posts are an external object...I think it's a **** rule because who would intentionally shoot the ball at a post intending it to come back to them?
Does anyone else hate it when they show pennos from that pitch side camera at the other end? also camerammen zooming right in on the ball when a player takes a shot-does my nut in.
I
Probably well known (for the avoidance of any posters eager to express the wide knowledge of the laws of our beuatiful game!)..however a player can just tap the ball forward for another team mate to come in and finish it also. Think I seen Ajax doing this in the 80's.
