My Guarantee
Am looking for old Irish matches on VHS, PM me if you have some and I'll upload them here
Thankfully Robbie doesn't feature in the LA Galaxy squad tonight. He should be on a plane to Dublin tomorrow and has three weeks to get prepared for Croatia.

'Robbie Keane has played down fears about a rib injury he picked up against Bosnia': http://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/inter...-injury-fears/
Republic of Ireland captain Robbie Keane has played down fears about a rib injury he picked up during the team's 1-0 friendly victory over Bosnia & Herzegovina, writes Glenn Mason.
Keane was treated for a number of minutes on the pitch after Bosnian defender Boris Pandza's knee caught him in the ribs.
The LA Galaxy striker, who picked up a minor hamstring injury earlier this month, eventually shrugged off the hefty challenge and said there was no danger of him missing Euro 2012.
"The hamstring is fine but the ribs are in bits after that knee. Ah na, it's fine," joked Keane.
"I just found it hard to breathe. It took a few minutes to catch my breath again. It's a little bit sore but it's nothing too serious."
Claudine reports on Twitter, "My hubbie got a crazy new hairdo, pics to follow!! #bitoffun!! Cx":
Just because he's not Stephen Ireland doesn't mean he should be allowed to get away with such abominations in his private-life!
Good to see that Robbie is doing his Purder after the Euros !
A lot of people are writing Robbie off. He was our top scorer in the qualifiers and with a bit of service from midfield I still think he is our best chance of a goal with darting runs etc off one twos etc. Left chasing shadows on his own, forget it. Let's not write his obituary just yet.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.
I think it will need to boil down to "form" from now on. Keane should no longer be automatic choice.
In the event that Long or Walters start well in the Premiership, I think Keane should be treated the same as everyone else. ie, the form player gets picked.
Shane Long is 25 now. He's no longer "one for the future". Robbie Keane was 22 the year of the 2002 World Cup.
Quoting years at random since 1975
Agreed, no longer captain and automatic choice but valuable squad member. If we dio change to some variation of 451 / 433 he is the lest good candidate for the centre-forward role and if the team benefits by having a better, less dysfunctional midfield at Robbie's expense so be it.
PS: we were near Claudine and mum at Spain game - you should have seen her boots! The heels must have been 6 inches long.
Sorry, having computer problems.
I'm a big fan of Robbie. My post above was very much tongue-in-cheek and I hope it wasn't interpreted as a dismissal of his service, or worse, an obituary of sorts. He's still only 31! :?
He's the greatest striker we've ever had. That isn't in doubt. I agree he should no longer be automatic choice, however. I base this on the fact that he's opted to play in the MLS whilst the four other strikers in our Euros squad are regular Premiership players to varying degrees. Robbie can do what he likes with his career, but moving to the MLS at the age of 30/31 was never the move one would expect of a top international striker who wants to remain at the peak of the international game. He's wasting his ability at a much lower and less challenging level for big money and the high life in LA. I'm not sure how such a level is supposed to ensure he remains at the top of his game.
For what it's worth, I also think Richard Dunne would make a better captain.

Yeah going to the US was a bad football decision, but I'm sure it was a great personal/family decision, so I won't judge. It seems like he's been around forever, but that just goes to show how short football careers are --who'd begrudge him the chance to make a few million before he retires?
On footballing grounds though, it's time to gradually use Robbie less and less and give Long more time.
Robbie needs to be playing in a better league if he expects to remain first-choice for 70-80 minutes every Ireland game... and if Long and/or others keep banging in the goals at a higher level than Robbie then roles should be reversed (i.e. Long/A.N. Other on for 70-80 minutes, Robbie as an impact sub.)
All that said, I hate the stick Robbie gets... especially considering the dedication he has shown to Ireland over the years. I suspect a lot of the stick he gets is down to snobbery, the idea that a young fella (now an aul fella) from Tallaght should just keep the head down and shut up and be modest and thankful for any success rather than be cocky and unapologetic for doing well for himself.
Keanes record under Trap is 18 goals in 35 appearances, it really does speak for itself. We shouldn't have automatic selections now or previously but the onus is one the other lads to prove that they can contribute a ratio somewhere near 1 in 2. For all of Keanes deficiencies being a clinical finisher isn't one of them, to succeed at international level dispatching the weaker teams is a big part of it. Under Trap could you ever say theres been games where we've been peppering the goal and not scoring? Keane is a big part of why that doesn't happen, if someone else were to come in they'd have to be clinical.
Doyle and Walters are not prolific goalscorers, Long has the potential to be but has it all to prove.
Landon Donovan has remained a top quality player his entire career playing in the MLS, I'd have zero concerns about the league Keane plays in. I'd actually view it as a good thing playing in a positive technical team alongside talented players rather than enjoying a session of hoofball at Wolves, Aston Villa, Stoke etc.
Either way selection is on form and ability, to disqualify someone because they play in a league you don't like is hilarious.
