I can see Keano years from now with his grandchildren bouncing on his knees, waiting on his every word, as he tells the story of fulfilling the life long dream of playing Alajuelense. "Papa, there was a football league in the states?" They will ask. "Yes", he'll say, with a twinkle in his eye.

entertaining bit when they ask robbie if he was surprised to get called up to the national team. I don't think he'd ever been asked that before. Felt a little like when that tv3 girl asked eddie o'sullivan if he was considering his position...

Looked lively is an apt description for last night... after that, he was tactically very poor, running aimlessly and without any sense of combination play. Had potential to score off two decent crosses in the first half but went behind the defenders and the chance was easily dealt with by the defender. --- On this performance, Robbie should be behind both of our other two primary forwards for upcoming euro games. --While it's only the 2nd game over here, last night would be an indicator that internationally (the level us on this board are focused on) there's not much left in the tank for Robbie...... and it's a situation that's not dependent on what league he's playing in.

That'd be the level he's scored 5 goals in 6 games this campaign while not really playing consistently at club level, would it? The way people go on about Robbie Keane, I'd fecking love to see a good forward play for us. He'd have a thousand international goals to his name, his first touch would cure cancer and his off the ball movement would be so beautiful as to make grown men weep in joy.

You're right there. It's a situation more dependent on his international form. Top scorer in our group despite playing very little club football in that time is enough for me.

Let's drop the top scorer in our group because he's only scored one goal in two games for his new club.

Interesting that if he had stayed at Spurs a little longer he likely would have come up again Shamrock Rovers.

Saw fair bit of LA Galaxy game last night in a bar in Chicago. Robbie looked fairly sharp. As was said above he didn't really get much goal opportunities but certainly looked like he was putting himself about and well up for it.
In other matters I'm hung over to bits.

Another of the teams Robbie has "done a Robbie" on and admitted to supporting as a boy. (Seriously.)

agreed, certainly enough for me too .... I was commenting on what I saw over the last two club games, since he has not seen much club action lately. Really hoping that with a decent run of club games he can go on for a long time.

The ones in bold are hardly the greatest of sides?? I stand by my argument that his record will be beaten in the very near future. Retire Robbie, your time is up!!

How near is "very near"? It took Robbie 13 years to hit 50 and there's nobody in the current squad with more than 10.

Does nobody remember what weldononho said the last time?and we didn't hear from him in months.he reminds me those doom days prophets who buy themselves loads of time with their future predictions.

Btw i think cxlinton was more trying to make the point about the mls than robbie....

    You're right.

If only the piece of crap that he is could have scored against teams he hasn't played against then we could really judge him and his career.

We should judge him on the goals he didn't score in the games he didn't play.

A bit harsh on the Danes putting them in with the likes of Andorra & Malta considering they're former European Champions and were preparing for a WC in 2002 when Robbie scored against them....
