BTW if you have the Setanta Sports package (or a dodgy box) There's sometimes three different NASNs, the main one, one on Setanta Ireland and one on Setanta Sports 1 (UK)

Yeah, sorry I guess that, I was just talking in general terms.
In other news, good to see Chcago improve to 14-10 in a strong division (every team with winning record)

Holy cow, did anyone see the Edmonton - Vancouver game?!
4-2 Canucks was the score. The game had more fights than any other game I've ever seen! The last 40 seconds took ages, whenever the game restarted more fights just kept breaking out. The spirit of the crowd, referees, commentators and team benches during these hot-tempered games are a nice contrast to football.
Fighting aside it was a good game of Hockey, as was the Maple Leafs 4-3 overtime win over the Bruins in Toronto. Maple Leafs were 2-1 down in the 3rd and capitalised on a 5-on-3 to take control and score two quick goals. Then with 40 seconds left Chara equalised before Darcy Tucker won it in over time.
Also the Canadiens won 1-0, superb Goaltending from Carey Price with 34 saves!
Almost forgot a 5-1 win for Rangers in New York over Sabres, 4-0 first period!

Well into the playoffs and no new posts.. for shame
Canadiens won the series over Bruins 4-3
NYR won the series over New Jersey 4-1
Penguins over Sens 4-0
Flyers over Capitals 4-3
Red Wings over Preds 4-2
Sharks over Flames 4-3
Stars over Ducks 4-2 and
Avalanche over Wild 4-2
**** the Wings, otherwise I don't care. I'm still upset the Hawks missed out...at least we got 2 Calder Trophy finalists

Am looking for old Irish matches on VHS, PM me if you have some and I'll upload them here
:Cough: The new season isn't that far away
I'm fairly happy with the Rangers roster. Still a pretty mature squad, with the addition of 35 year old Markus Näslund from Vancouver - the Canucks all-time leading points, goal and hat-trick scorer. Naturally a left-winger, plays on either wing and replaces Brendan Shanahan (who is now a free agent).

If the Caps had kept their goalie from last year Huet id have them a dark horse for it this year. When Huet and the new manager came in midway through the season they made a near miraclous turn around and got top spot in their division having been in last place. They were unlucky in the playoffs.I cant see past the Red Wings though, they are a machine, like the Pats in NFL(when they have Brady of course).Watch out for Crosby and the Penguins though.
I'd say watch out for Ovechkin and the Capitals again.

Alexei Cherepanov, the New York Rangers' first pick (No. 17) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, has died after suffering an apparent heart attack Monday during a game with Avangard Omsk, his club in the Kontinental Hockey League.

RIP
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7804013.stm It would seem that Cherepanov contributed to his heart attack with steroids.. article also mentions a delay in treatment on the scene (wtf? at a hockey match!?) so we may not have heard the last of this.
On a brighter note I noticed the news during the Rangers 5-4 win over the Islanders tonightThe Rangers puck retention at the back was poor but they managed to attack enough in the final period to win. NYR were trailing 2-1 at the start of the final period
