Great reports by Tets - thank you. There is also Michael O'Connor at Crewe who is playing currently.
Thanks, I'll add O'Connor to the list and he'll appear in the next round of games.
According to his wikipedia profile - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael...8footballer%29 - he's played for the Northern underage teams, but changed his allegiance at U-21 level, similar to Darron Gibson, Marc Wilson and Rory Harkin.
If anyone knows of any other players that are missing, let me know and I'll add them in for the next round of fixtures. I'm pretty sure I've most players in the Premiership, Scottish Premiership and Championship, it's the lower leagues where I'm missing players.
Incidentally, if anyone can think of some good ideas to do with this information now that we have it, I'm open to suggestions. Adding it to a site somewhere and making it available for analysis is one idea, but I honestly wouldn't know where to start.
I saw Dave Savage play for Rushden and Diamonds there tonight...of course I was cheering on the other side!
We could stick all those players into our own irish players wiki and maintain various statistics on each player such as games started, sub appearances, goals scored, ratings (possibly ratings from a pre-determined set of daily papers considering many of us won't have the opportunity to see many of the games such players are involved in). We could also post links to any stories relevant to each player. Anything is possible.
Of course this would all take a fair amount of work and time to set up. Any volunteers?

What format does the data come out in, is it a fixed structure file. If so it should be possible to create an access db (or soemthing similar) which can be published fairly easily.
tets has suggested a wiki page a few times but I think an actual website would be better. I'd definitely do whatever I could to keep it updated. I'm just the type of person that can never get a site started (the template or whatever) but I've no problem keeping it updated. If we could get something up for the new English season it'd be great.
I was thinking along the lines of our own wiki website meself eirebhoy with a few devout regulars having login rights to maintain and update the information.
To have the appearances, goals and other such data stored in a db is a nice idea(Access as previously mentioned would be ideal for this basic as it is) though that adds an extra level of complexity when coding the pages and possibly makes the wiki idea redundant.

I think the existing wikipedia pages on Irish footballers - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Categor...nd_footballers - already serves a large portion of this, but it's a good idea
At the moment it's just a stream of text. Pretty much what each report looks like is what comes out. But formatting it to XML, or CSV would be straightforward enough
I've been looking at google base lately - http://base.google.com/base - I had heard it hosted information free of charge. But I'm not sure if it's what we're looking for.
Maybe if the format was correct then it would be handy. Has anyone any experience with it?
There's also
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_F...Playing_Abroad
which theworm2345 setup, but as of today has been marked for deletion and could be lost forever unless we protest

Am looking for old Irish matches on VHS, PM me if you have some and I'll upload them here

shame about the women's player section, there's only one entry, Emma Byrne.

Irish goalscorers: David McGoldrick(61)
Marc Wilson u21 int. on loan at Bournemouth

Thanks for that, Co. Down Green.
The problem here is that the same player is listed twice on soccerbase, each with a different spelling for his name
Correct spelling, not up to date: http://www.soccerbase.com/players_de...playerid=45991
Incorrect spelling, up to date: Previous: http://www.soccerbase.com/players_de...playerid=43592
It was the version with the correct spelling I was checking for, I'll check for the version with the incorrect spelling in the next round of fixtures, with the correct spelling appearing in the link
Just to confirm the way he spells his name is Marc: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marc_Wilson_(footballer)
"Highly-rated Ireland Under-16 cap" Conor Hourihane from Cork has signed with the Sunderland Academy.
I see Darren Randolph will replace Scott Carson when Charlton play Liverpool in their last game of the season, as Carson isn't allowed to play against Liverpool as part of the loan terms. Could be a baptism of fire as Charlton may need something to stay up.
