Paddy Kavanagh for Birmingham as well...
Definitely thing Stephen McPhail would be a success on the continent.
Always look on the bright side of life

Who's this Paddy Kohlmann that plays for B Dortmund? Anyone with any knowledge?
We could do with a cultured German style defender.... Anything for O Brien et al to get their P45's.

there's a bunch of posts on Kohlmann, just have to use search function

Kohlmann has been around years now. He's a left back so now competition to O'Brien and I doubt he'll ever be competition to anyone at 24 now. Make use of the list on the first page.![]()

Yeah Hughton is one of my favourite players to play for Ireland and the reason I have a soft spot for Spurs. A gentleman

O'Dea has just scored for the Hoops.3rd since Christmas.
Nice predatory finish from O'Dea - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70wKYAj3dw8
O'Dea has a much better goals to games ratio than McGeady. Says it all IMO.
Nakamura has scored 1 in 14. Don't let me have to tell you how good that guy is.How can you argue with McGeady's 5 goals and 7 assists in 18 starts? He'll never be good enough for some people.

A quick trip to soccerbase.com and this is the Celtic squad's goals per game ratio is:
As a midfielder, McGeady's return is only bettered than Graveson, who is a goalscoring midfielder and Jarosik, who has played up front and is a target man from free kicks and corners.Code:Name Games Goals Goals per game J Vennegoor of Hesselink 14 12 0.86 D Riordan 6 5 0.83 M Zurawski 24 10 0.42 D O'Dea 8 3 0.38 S Pearson 6 2 0.33 K Miller 19 6 0.32 T Gravesen 19 6 0.32 J Jarosik 19 5 0.26 C Beattie 4 1 0.25 A McGeady 20 5 0.25 S Nakamura 33 8 0.24 E Sno 10 1 0.10 S McManus 30 2 0.07 N Lennon 28 0 0 P Hartley 1 0 0 M Wilson 10 0 0 L Naylor 31 0 0 S Maloney 10 0 0 S Pressley 5 0 0 G Caldwell 20 0 0 P Telfer 27 0 0 B Balde 10 0 0
Nakamura is only slightly worse, but he takes all the free kicks.
you'd have to imagine McGeady's would be better if he was allowed to take the free's, but with Nakamura on the pitch, it's not going to happen.
It's not worth saying anything about O'Dea's goal ratio at the moment, wait until the end of the season, or at least until Easter before saying something like he should be playing up front, or ahead of McGeady
O'Dea likes to get forward, has confidence in his ability and technique and his goals are a major bonus from a young centre half. If you watch him he is always gambling on little runs into the box and hangs around long enough to pick up the sort of scraps like he did yesterday and against Kilmarnock. Relatively untested defence-wise at the moment it has to be said.
Fingers crossed he can eventually transfer this early promise into an Ireland shirt. Must be a better prospect than yer man Paddy Kohlmann![]()
