I did wonder that, there's no way on the site o see how he is classed. If he's not we are short 2 players. I was wondering has Sinnott played for Reading?

Conor Sinnott was on loan at Limerick, will possibly return to Reading in January. Limerick spell was a bit of a disaster and contract with Reading unlikely now (he was on non contract terms there). He played about 8 games for their reserves last season and scored three or four goals from midfield.

Winger Graham Carey scored all Celtic's 3 goals on Friday. Skinner, Cahillane and Sheridan also started.

Unused sub Ian Daly was the only Irish interest in Man City's Reserve's 3-1 Manchester Senior Cup win over Stockport County's Reserves.

Jim O'Brien and Darren O'Dea played the whole game, while Diarmuid O'Carroll was a late sub as Celtic's reserves won their 13th game in a row 2-0 against St Mirren's second string.
    Some quotes:
The back four, superbly marshalled by O’Dea, dealt comfortably with everything St Mirren threw at them
O’Brien and Icelandic striker Finnbogason caused the experienced St Mirren rearguard a lot of problems.

Elliott and Murphy started up front, Murphy had a goal off a header from 1 yard out, both played full 90, Connolly came on and hit the post, Liam Lawrence scored for Stoke

McCarthy, Logan and Maybury all played, wasnt at this one but match report here, but not a great deal of Irish interest in it:

    norwich v leicester 3-1

again McCarthy, Logan and Maybury played with McCarthy getting a goal a booking and an injury, didnt make this one either but heres the match report with considerable McCarthy and Logan interest:

here is a piece regarding Lincoln City's, Lee Frecklingtons, call up to the recent B squad and his Irish lineage from the Lincolnshire Echo site, it seems he has 2 Irish grandparents, and a very proud Mammy over it all:

Garry Breen and Karl Moore started for Man City's U-18 side in the FA Youth Cup last night against Millwall, with Donal McDermott coming off the bench for Moore, while fellow Irish player Michael Daly was an unused sub. The game finished 0-0 and with the game going to penalties Breen missed his kick (City's 6th) allowing Millwall to progress to the next round at the expense of last season's finalists.
Not sure about any Irish involvement for Millwall, but they had player named Joe O'Rourke and an unused sub named Pat O'Connor, surely some Irish link there?

tetsujin, I don't know if you missed it but there's an Irish lad playing in the Norwich youth team, Gareth Matthews.

Nope, didn't know that. But his name isn't in the list on page 1 either, Eirebhoy, can you add him?

    leicester v sheffield wednesday 1-4

Logan, McCarthy and Maybury played for leicester, the latter at left back on saturday, with Glenn Whelan being the only Irish interest for weds.

Mayburywas his usual self, nothing great or disastrous, going through the motions a bit and not firstchoice these days when full squad is available, will be interesting to see if he is still here after the window or if that sunderland move finally happens.

Logan, although beaten on 4 occasions did ok, and is credited with one world class save in thr O.S. report (see link) but he was booked for protesting a penalty decision to a fairly trigger happy ref.

McCarthy let himself down through indicipline sadly, while protesting, admittedly, a very soft pen,in the first half he was booked for going almost nose to nose with the ref, and after recieving the yellow he chose to sarcastically applaud the card, which could have seen him walk there and then. Early in the second half he did walk, picking up a second yellow for a tug on the arm of ex-colleague Glenn Whelan who did his countryman no favours by hitting the deck right on cue, something Paddy voiced considerable dissappointment at before departing, leaving Whelan in no doubt what he thought of him.

to rub the salt in, it was Whelan himself who went on to make the game safe
with a goal of real quality, coming onto a loose ball a long way outside the penalty area and smashing it first time into the top right hand corner as he looked at it, off the underside of the bar, i was fortunate enough to beright behind the line of it and it was as good as you will see anywhere this season.
Ironically, it was the only time in the 90 that i recall Whelan joining the attack as he played the deep midfield role superbly, always keeping posession with simple quick clever passing and never once being guilty of putting his side under pressure by losing the ball with over ambitious long diagonal balls too early in moves, which he had tended to do when ive watched him previously, he was good on sat, the best ive seen him play.

    O.S. report here:
    http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page...~34452,00.html

heres Mayburys take on the deepening brown stuff at leicester:http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page...937267,00.html

Apparently Liam Miller played very well the weekend... Some very impressed posters on this message board... While most acknowledge he hadn't really convinced up to this weekend... Hopefully a turning point!

    Stephen Quinn

I see young Stephen Quinn made his Premiership debut for Sheffield Utd last weekend. By all accounts he had an excellent game. In the highlights that I seen he looked to be one of Sheffield United's most dangerous players. He created a few chances for Hulse and had a few cracks at goal himself which is promising.

I rated his brother Alan very highly when he first burst onto the scene at Sheffield Wednesday a number of years back but he never achieved the heights that I believed he could be capable of.

It's early days yet but he should keep his place in the team (if there's any justice) for the next game. I reckon if (and I stress the word if) he continues to keep his place in the Sheffield United team he could be a challenger to McGeady for a position on one of the wings in the next (important) set of Ireland matches in 3-4 months.

Early days I know but something to think about.

Definitely looks like he's got much more to offer(and actually played a Full Premiership Game) than the mysterious Alan O'Brien. If he manages to fulfil the same sort of potential Alan had we're in business
