You're totally missing my point. Celtic and Rangers buy up all the best young Scottish players every year. Shamrock Rovers don't, and getting to the group stages of the Europa League, while a tremendous achievement, will not change that fact.

Like it was such a shame how Shamrock Rovers ran out of steam in the last 20 or 25 minutes last night, it was embarrassing. And as for extra time, well they were practically walking werent they, it was shocking.

Probably because the best Scottish players aren't good enough to play in any other league...

How did he play? Had the kids so couldn't get away to watch. Flying home for the All-Ireland so I need to stay in her good graces

There are loads of Scottish players who play in England. Absolutely loads. The Scottish squad has always been full of players from the Scottish league. How many LOI players play for the national team or have done in the last 30 years in a competitive game?

LOI fans making jibes like this against the Scots like this should have a look at their own product before slagging anyone elses, we're not in a position to mock. Don't worry I'm here to put you back in your place. I have an affinity for the Scots, they support their own league despite sharing the same land mass as England, we should try and learn from them, not mock them.

No, I've been to Shels game since I was six years old, I don't get it. I'm against people ignoring their own league. People can support who they wish, but support you own clubs as well. A lot of Scots have an affinity or whatever for some English clubs but their own always come first, no matter how crap they may be.

Stapleton at the age off 55 would have buried the first chance Long had.

How'd he get on yesterday? There's a statement in the F365 Winners and Loosers Section fromt he Weekend that he's "Leading the way for the Newcomer of the Season"
I pity the fool!.... But suggest ways that he might improve himself.

I watched the game and he was very impressive. Won every ball, bullied their defenders, very canny layoffs etc. Shows unreal pace at times too.

Interviewer and interviewee (his manager) were both impressed:

He was Man of the Match - played brilliantly. Got rave reviews on MOTD 2.

Great to hear the rave reviews about Shane Long. The interviewer stating that Long was a snip at £4.5m and it was one of the best front-running displays by any player in the PL this season is heartwarming! Hodgson saying it was Long's first season in the premiership is somewhat inaccurate though.
In fairness to Long he's learned the hard way in the championship, every time I see him play he's very aggressive in the way he attacks the ball. It's clear he's used to the more combative defenders in the championship and that's translated into the premiership very well. 3 premier league goals but one against Chelsea and one against Man United is testament to his ability to cause problems. Surely the bigger clubs are taking note in the same way they did about Doyle at that age?
