Wolves-Sunderland clash switched for TV coverage

The Coca-Cola Championship meeting of Wolves and Sunderland, which will bring together Saipan foes Mick McCarthy and Roy Keane for the first time since their acrimonious parting four years ago, will be screened live by Sky Sports.

The game had been scheduled for Saturday, November 25th but has been brought forward to the Friday night for live television coverage.

I can magine Sky spending months hyping up this in a kind of "Unfinished Business" kind of way and having about 20 cameras focused on them throughout.

I guess they will just shake hands curtly and civilly, and that will be that. (If they still have their jobs then!)

I doubt if they shake hands at all, probably just ignore each other. The fact we are even talking about this, means Sky were right to bring the game forward!

Yeah I'm looking forward to it already and it's got nothing to do with the football. I'd be surprised if they shake hands at all.

I reckon Kenae will go to shake Mc Carthys hand not sure about the other way round though. I fly out to Barcelona the next morning so glad they moved it.

Did Keane not say in the Press Conf that he'd probably shake his hand? Can't remember but I thought so.

Don't think they'll shake hands but if they do, neither will mean anything by it.

No point starting this again. If we are then I'd say exactly what you said only turn it around and say "If I was Roy"

Can't believe they brought it forward...all very amusing..ill go for a handshake....I can see keane going for it and I'd say mccarthy would want to cause any hassle and shake....

to be honest id say it could go either way...anyone got odds all ready?

With all the hype going into it the game will probably be a boring 0-0 draw!! Looking forward to it nonetheless!!

Wolves have gone off the boil and lost two in a row now.

I don't see a handshake taking place and certainly won't be initiated by McCarthy. Quinn no doubt will be fannying around the place shaking hands with everyone

They just brought forward another one, Crystal Palace, right around Christmas time (Dec. 22?)

Good Gift Grub this morning in the form of Mick and Roy signing in an Operatic way: "walked" "sent home" etc etc

Match tomorrow. Hoping for a Wolves win to keep Sunderland in the relegation zone below Wednesday. That's the only reason of course

I hope Sunderland win as it would be good if Kavanagh and Elliot are playing in a winning team.

    Of course that's the reason

    Keane attacks "mercenary players":

"It was all about playing and doing well but priorities have changed, they're
more obsessed with money so I don't want them at the club anyway."
Didn't Keane have a clause in his contract with Man U to ensure that he
always remained the highest paid player in the club?

No he denied that, he said in a few interviews that as long as he signed his contract and he was happy with it he would never ask for more just cause some guy comes in and gets more.

Surely it cant have been rising inflation that made him hold out for 50,000 a week back in 2000.
