The SPL is a poor league, Wes Hoolahan was a flop in it and was sold to Blackpool. He was in the Championship TOTY and is now a Premiership player. Now how can that be going off how that Birmingham fan looks at things?
I got into a 'debate' on this issue with a Birmingham fan on another forum. He wants McLeish gone, and one of the reasons he gave is that he said he tried to sign McGeady. I pointed out that McGeady is on fire in Russia, his responce was that it is a poor league where even Garry O'Connor was a success and that McGeady is worse than Andy reid

Spartak went out of the cup to CSKA today (3-3 in normal time and 4-5 on penalties).
McGeady had an assist for the first Spartak goal (1 min on vid below), a half-assist for the third Spartak goal (4 mins on vid below) and smashed home his penalty in the shoot-out (8 mins on vid below).
He also scored late on at the weekend against Amkar Perm in a game Spartak went on to lose (start of below vid).
Fantastic penalty. The turn back for the third goal was excellent too. Vagner Love's hair is amazing though.
Was at the game and the atmosphere was one of dread throughout, Spartak fans would have been outnumbered had police and officials let the 6,000+ (from where I was standing it looked pretty close to it as they were penned in an enclosure that according to UEFA can hold 8,000 people) CSKA fans into the ground. By half-time most of them had given up and left the area, when we left at full time it was empty. It might sound nuts that a club would choose to turn away punters, but it would have meant the home fans being outnumbered. Cracking match and Spartak were very unlucky.
Thanks for the vids Rock. The firstr goal reminds me of a match I watched on telly years ago under Eoin Hand. It must be the style of Russian TV producers to show a shot of the ball in the net after every goal. I recall watching a game in Moscow (I think we lost 2-0) and all I can recall is the image of the ball nesting in the net after each goal.
Playing against Krasnodar on ESPN live now.
DID YOU NOTICE A SIGN OUTSIDE MY HOUSE...?
Just had a look at the league table, not going all that great so far. They lie 9th after 9 games, five points off the top with a game in hand.
Assist there for Spartak's second. Playing well.

Stupid question I know but is he in or out for the Scotland match?
The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist thinks it will change; the realist adjusts the sails.
Out. Spartak play Zenit on Sunday so he'll be playing in that. Spartak don't have to release him until next week.
He looked good on the ball throughout, and most importantly looked fit. Zenit were the better team for most of the game.
Taken off in the 30th minute against rubin. Went over on his right ankle after a fairly rough tackle. 35min gone 0-0. Live on ESPN.
In fact turned it on about a minute before hand so now my interest is gone.
Any indication as to how serious it might be?
It looks like a strain to me, did not look serious an injury.
What the boss said. Was sitting up comfortably on the bench anyway.
Uh-oh. He should be available for September but lets get the candles lit just in case...
Ou-est le Centre George Pompidou?
