Wouldn't blame them. Doubt he'd get in the side anyway. The two young fellas that started against United looked excellent. Stephen Ireland isn't really getting in the side an he's a considerably better player than Gibson, on the evidence so far. I don't think there's any PL club where he'd be certain of his place.

He would probably start off on the bench, but at least he would have a better chance of first team football than at Utd.

Due to some background torrent activity, that page took about 20 seconds for me to load. In those moments, I had time to ponder whether the sneak preview headline "I'm going nowhere" was a cry of defiance or sigh of exasperation.

Gibson didn't make the squad today in the Carling Cup against West Ham despite it being a largely weakened United side.

Just thinking what was the Irish lad at WHam a few years back, we have really big hopes for.........Shaun ??? I think his name was.......whatever happened to him. I recall him been very highly rated by Brian Kerr.

Are you thinking of Clive Clarke? He had heart problems that caused his retirement from the game.

And cheers gustavo, thats the lad. Another one that bite the dust. I distinctly remember Kerr picking him out for big things but unfortunately never materialised.

Yeah... I vaguely remember something on football focus years ago about West Hams youth prouction line, where he was being touted as the solution to Englands left side problem. And Harry had to correct them and say he was Irish.... Think Roddy Collins signed him for Rovers too...
I pity the fool!.... But suggest ways that he might improve himself.

Gibson (injured I assume) didn't play last night thank God although I see O'Shea was involved. Evans was subbed so hopefully most of the goals go down to him.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

O'Shea was woeful, 2 out of 10 bad. I'm starting to think he has forgotten how to pass a ball. He has been shocking all season and Fergie will probably stick with Raphael at RB now

Evans was even worse. 2 years ago he looked a prospect but he'll be on his way if he doesn't buck up his ideas. Gibson was fortunate to not be involved.

You'll NEVER beat the Irish.......you'll just draw with us instead!!!

O'Shea was one of the better players. Switched sides because Fabio was struggling on the left.

O'Shea was "ok". Fabio, Bebe and Smalling were poor drawing a lot of scorn from fans. But worst of all was Johnny Evans who was diabolical, his performances lately have most the fans in agreement that his time at United is numbered.
Fergusons substitutions of removing Evans, Bebe and Fabio were probably telling in where he saw the problems were.

Evans and Smalling are big lads but they really need to bulk up - Evans particularly. Cole bullied them all night.
