Top 5 goal celebrations [fans, not players]

To fill the lull between fixtures, I thought this might provoke interesting replies. No 1 Houghton V Ingerland. No 2 Keane V Germany .No 3 Mcateer V Holland. No 4 Cascarino V Ingerland. No 5 Quinn V Holland.

Fair play to you if you were at all them Houghton v Italy would be well up there..I myself would go for Keane against Germany as place erupted behind the goals.

second that - i can't imagine a better feeling/moment of celebration in my lifetime than that - place went nuts, we thought it was home time! then robbie popped up.

roppongi was nuts too after the match - 6 of us got a lift back to our hotel off 2 japenese birds at about 8.30 in morn - they would only let 4 in the back seat (incase they got pulled by cops) so we took turns in the boot - 2 at a time!!!! (a bit off point but it was an unreal night and best celebratoin by fans i can remember -

another was quinns equaliser against england in wembley - class

Yeah, I'd have to agree. Keane against Germany will take some beating.

I think you need to qualify your choice with your age. Most goal celebrations pre buckets seats in lansdowne were nuts but a lot of guys here wouldnt remember.

Brady v Brazil was nuts (pardon the pun)
Kennedy and Keane v Yougoslavia (mid-war). scaffolding swayed about 3 feet either way for 35 minutes after the scored
Who is this guy, Trapper Tony?

Fair point...Stapletons equaliser V Spain in 3 3 draw was my first ROI game.I was on the South Terrace and remember being shoved down about ten steps while freaking out at same time.No floodlights and it was practically dark.

had the pleasure of being behind the goal in stuttgart. 10 seconds of ' did that just go in" followed by chaos.

Stapleton (Or Michel own goal) against spain at landsdowne in 89 was also superb.

    The Mighty Quinn Vs Holland

Quinn Vs Holland in Palermo, the torture on a hot balmy night in Palermo was over. We could relax knowing we'd made the second round.

Talking David Kelly against england 94

Ok I know this one wont count in the history books but the atmosphere in Lansdowne was class. When we scored the South terrace erupted then got aload of chairs f**ked at us but hey great 5 mins of celebrating

Stapleton equaliser against Spain (3-3) at Lansdowne in early 80s. I was on Sth Terrace and, no exaggeration, I was swept 30 yards from where I was standing by the crowd surge. Pre-Hillsborough obviously, as I think we'd all take a different view of it now.

Of the modern era Robbie's equaliser in Ibaraki. It was so final, and so unexpected.

Along the same lines as Ibaraki being so unexpected, was anyone in Brussels in '97 for the playoff? I wasnt , but i remember watching on tv and going absolutely ballistic. At that point until Houghton scored i couldnt see us hitting the net all year..

    Houghton [v England, 88]
    O'Leary [v Romania, 90]
    Lawrenson [v Scotland, 87]
Lawrenson [v Holland, diving header late in game, early 80's, forget when]
Houghton [v Belgium, 97 (personally best atmosphere at Ireland game for 10 mins until they scored again)]
