May I suggest we choose a place for basing ourselves out of on the Saturday morning/night?
Now looking at doing the overnight on Saturday and going back on Sunday

For anyone getting the boat from Dub to Holyhead, is there a decent train service to Cardiff or how are people intending to travel down? I can't find any info on trains...
What time do you get into Holyhead Chippy?
If you are in very late (on the 2am ferry) - there is a Virgin Trains service which goes direct to Birmingham.
The only way to get to Cardiff from Holyhead is via Birmingham or Crewe.
PM me a list of times you are travelling and I'll send you back a timetable

Thx Reiteoir - I haven't actually booked anything yet. I was just wondering would I be better off making my way to Rosslare to get the ferry to Fishguard which has a decent enough train service to Cardiff
Even though the game will now mean absolutely nothing I am looking forward to the weekend away.I have never been to Cardiff so it is a good excuse for a visit.
Some good tips from Reiteoir there so you will have to give a few more in advance of the game.
Bohs Will Be Back!!!
Sorry if mentioned already, but what time is KO?
The train from Holyhead to Cardiff would take about 5 hours - services there are linked to the ferry timetables
Fishguard to Cardiff takes about 3 hours - but the services don't seem to be that regular - 1 a day on first glances - could be worth looking at breaking down the route into more managable chunks or even taking the Eurolines service from Rosslaire to Cardiff.
I'll be able to give you a better assessment in about an hour when I get home.
Just to put you all in the picture - I do the rail/bus/ferry route when I come over for Bohs games - so know the Holyhead - Birmingham - Cardiff route inside out

It'll be dependent on what Sky want as well - as they hold the UK rights to both nation's qualifiers.
England are playing Friday night - so they're out of the equation
Scotland - Italy is down as a 5pm kickoff
Northern Ireland - Denmark is pencilled in as a 7:45pm kickoff
Which leads me to believe we'll be the usual 3pm on the Saturday

Your best bet is to fly with www.flybmi.ie to Heathrow and hire a car. Flights are €72 today and car hire works out at €20 each if you have four in the car. You wont get the boat much cheaper than that and the drive from Heathrow to Cardiff is about two and a half hours, which is shorter than both Fishgard and Holyhead.
There are buses going from Dublin down to Rosslare on the Friday 16th leaves Dublin at 0445hrs with these www.pilgrimsabroad.com
Few of us thinking of making this trip. Thread to long to look into it[and I'm lazy] so to the people who've researched it already, what seems cheapest/handiest option? Also, I drive if ferry is easiest.
Cheers in advance!
