we have Croom on Saturday, then the remaining games are Caherdavin, Summerville, Corbally....if Wembley win their remaining games, which I think they will, H'town, Corbally and Summerville have a good chance of taking points off each other, putting Wembley in the driving seat.....

    Bishop

Bishop are you involved with Herbertstown? I have to say I dont think ye will go up ye just don't have what it takes.

I think the Table will finish like this:

    Star
    Corbally
    Wembley
    Summerville
    Herbertstown

well done to the ldmc for putting the majority of matches on sat evening would of being a bit of a disaster with people trying to go to both the munster leinster match and the clare limerick match (for the county teams)
Wembley to snake promotion despite playing our worst football since relgation from premier 5 or 6 years ago. very poor 1a this year.

    our remaining fixtures
    home: croom, abbey, coonagh
away: star(50 quid a man abbeyvale to throw it rounding up the money at every training session)

anyone know one of corballys fixtures know they have caherdavin and herbertstown.

I've seen ye play 3 times this year. All in all ye were poor. Summerville beat ye what was it 3-0? Herbertstown's defending was I saw ye play Annacotty cos I've a mate playing for them. They were in the middle of a bad run. Should have mauled ye 4 or 5. Also saw ye away to Geraldines. Again, poor.

I think Summerville & Corbally will take ye. Summerville to win 2-0 & Corbally 3-0. But that's soccer and I think ye have found year level in 1A/1B.

What makes you think Corbally are good enough to go up. I saw them play 2 times this year. Lost to a very bad balla B team 2-0. This is a team that lost half their team and were looking at relegation. And saw them lose to star. Fair enough star beat most teams this year but if corbally are good enough to go up they should have given em a better game. I though star and corbally would get promotion but Im leaning towards wembley for second spot.

    Wembley are excellent

Great side, great ground, great football.

I'll be happy if either of these 2 go up.

Both would do the Premier justice.

what do you mean we should have given them a better game. we were 2 nil down and brought it back to two all. we lost due to an own goal in the last kick of the game. we couldnt have given them a much better game than that!!

I know i'm going to get slated for what i'm going to say but here goes. Firstly I don't think any of the sides in 1A are good enough to compete in the premier next season and i'm including Star. The nucleus of the Star side are the same players that were relegated with Abbey last year. Unless they sign 5 or 6 well established premier players in the summer i can see them going straight back down next season.
As for the other side that comes up i wouldn't hold out any hope.

Would the sides from County Limerick be better off forming a country league? At least then Charleville would win a title and teams like Herbertstown could compete at the top level?

I thought you werent involved with corbally. Ya ye were 2-0 down and star relaxed a bit. Ye got back into it because of that but then star put ye back under pressure and ye couldnt handle it. For me I just think your side is too young at the moment. Ye need a few more experienced players.

couldnt agree with you more. 10 of our starting 11 are under 22. but to say they put us under pressure is rubbish. they didnt get it into our half for the entire second half. and we should have beaten them the other night aswell but the referee gave them everything and we were lucky to get a draw because of him. in my opinion we havent come across a team yet in 1a that are better than us. its only a matter of time before we go up because we have the best players in the league, fact.

Hey thats your opinion. I dont agree with you but thats your opinion. If ye had the best players (FACT) would ye have not walked the league instead of star. Why do you think ye didnt win it?

How is the training of the county school girls going?

we didnt win the league becauce as you said, we thought we were going to walk it and didnt prepare right for games against the lesser teams. our arrogance cost us, as it does evry year, but we'll learn. as for the girls team, their not too bad, think most of them are starting for wembley at this stage!!!

realistically i dont think we'll go up cos its out of our hands. we've croom caherdavin and herbertstown left. i'd fancy us to win all three but even so if wembley win all their games they'll finish ahead of us.

Do Herbertstown have to play Wembley yet?

That could be a crucial game, I'd fancy Wembley to win it though.

If Wembley have to meet corbally, that could be a tough run in.

Still reckon Star Corbally Wembley 1-2-3 with Summerville/Herbertstown sneaking 4th.
