If Abbey had any ambition for this year they would have signed (or at least asked) all of last years Premier side to re-sign for the club again this year and add a few other players to the squad.
Unfortunatly that did not happen and Abbey have nobody to blame for that but themselves!!!!

All predictions correct except for Wembley to beat corbally we haven lost to them in their place for years have a great record there. Ya abbey are looking doomed but if they beat balla u never know not certain balla will have 11
Im not saying ur to blame or anythin for abbeys situation. Im just saying if the players really wanted to sign for them they would have went to the club and got a form themselves. How often do you see players approaching clubs for forms?? Not very often...

Players approach clubs for forms if they want to play for them.

Did Walla not want the job again or was he sacked.its seems very strange that they didnt approach any players from last years panel.some of these players in questions also left G'dines when things were going bad.will they stay with Star if they dont go up?
1. First of all they did approach Walla but he couldnt commit due to shift work.Originally Posted by see's it
2. They did approach some players from last season's squad but not ALL of them.
3. Those "some players" that left Geraldines would be Len O'Grady, Derek Hannon, Alan Morton & Ger Collopy, all of whom gave at least 15 years service each to Geraldines (mostly in Div 1A),,,,,,
so how can you say that they left when things WENT WRONG?????
How much more wrong can it get,,, being stuck in Div 1A year after year with only 4 or 5 players turning up for training and struggling to field a team on a Sunday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4. If Pa Boland stays on as manager I for one will be staying with Star (pormotion or not)!!!!!

Ok fair enough you left cos you felt that they didnt show enough desire to get promotion. Thats a fair enough reasonBottom line here is, Abbey showed no desire to gain promotion when they installed their "B" manager from the year before to manage the "A" team.

Just sounded like you were trying to say that you didnt sign with them cos you werent asked to sign.

Hi all...
have been enjoyin the jibes on here for awhile now but took a while to get registered...
So, what does everyone think of the standard in 1A?
Is it higher or lower than other years?
This is my first proper season in it, only played around 2 or 3 games last time round.
The best thing about 1A is that so many of the teams are of a similar standard that the league is generally a close run thing.....
Much quicker game than 1B but still a huge jump up to Premier.....

star and corbally to get promoted summerville and caherdavin outside bet wembley to come about fifth we have to beat corbally sunday for any chance came 3rd last 3 years always seems to be 2 teams better than us no chance of promotion cause we had better teams over the last 3 years. lost players to premier and our whole u17 national cup winning side are either plying premier or playing with limerick, so star will walk the league unless we beat corbally sunday were in trouble
