This thread is prime example of why most nuetrals seem to want Derry to win it ahead of Cork. if it goes down to the last game with Derry only needing a point, I can't see them being beaten (dodgy 93rd min penalty aside)

Yes, because I hate Cork people.
    Classic stuff!
i never said i thought you would choke, i said i would prefer to see Derry win it.
they are more gracious in victory (you have 1 league and 1 cup in 21 years and the tone of the posters here points to that cork arrogance we all know and love), far more friendly to us when we are up there, have been through thick and thin with their club, unlike cork when the going gets tough they fold and rename the club, you can have a beer with them without the fear of someone bottling you etc etc.
i think they are more deserving of the title as a club, even though i would acknowledge that cork are the better footballing side, insofar as that matters in the EL.
with the exception of you peader, you are magnificent!!

Derry have come from nowhere this season and most of their fans are in shock. If they win the league it wont be long before you're calling them arrogant and get sick of listening to them go on about how great they are.

    It goes with the territory.

We've been title contenders for so many years that we're always a major rival to some club. Finn Harps were the only ones bothered with Derry for the last 10 years.

Funny we won the league in 1997 almost a double and we won the Cup in 1995 almost a double......... Five years yes, but ten

Rico could go into the last game of the season needing only to get a result at home to win the league.

Lads, there's no way he'd blow something like that, surely

derry have won more than you in a similar time frame in LOI football.
they are better winners, they never went on like this AND YOU STILL HAVE NO SILVERWARE THIS SEASON.
i think the majority of non-cities fans would agree on this, you set yourselves up for a fall by being so co.ck-sure of winning so early on, whereas derry quietly went about their business.
im sure you will all be back watching rugby again in a few seasons when it all goes tits up (again)

Just wait until next season when there is something expected of them.
I wont expect your to publicly acknowledge that I was right just so long as you give Derry fans an equally hard time next season.

    You'd be correct.

You realise you can be in that position without 'bottling it' do you? Do you even know what 'bottling it' means? We weren't even in a position to do that.

We were the last two years running though.

last time i was at a rovers @ home game, a pint glass was thrown into our section. since i quit my job last month, myself and the missus have been to every away game but i'd rather not bring her anywhere near you scum for this one.

history dictates otherwise, but you are dug in on this one, so ill politely smile and nod....

gavin, i think we established beyond any doubt in a previous discussion on this that it was returned to the cork section from whence it came. not clever by whoever returned fire, but its an important distinction.
another reason i want derry to win it, they dont bury their heads in the sand about the (rare) nastiness that comes from their fans like you do.
    "you scum" blah blah.

You might want to forget, but Europes 'elite' are well aware of the answer to that question anyway

losing the run of yourself under pressure? you put yourselves under so much pressure this season, is it any wonder its been a total disaster? no trophys, no champions league, at best the slim hope that several things go your way so you'll just about get a european place.

or is bottling it not getting the results from your players in the 4 hardest games of the season? what can rico bottle anyway? its not like he has much choice with squad selection or tactics at the moment.
