This is almost like when Michael Jordan came out of retirement and rejoined the Bulls.

Move makes sense, he has been coaching at Southampton (who could use him themselves right now) and obviously Pompey is not far away.

Connolly looked decent on the ball in fairness. Portsmouth stank though, would not be surprised that they get relegated again.

The Worm hasn't posted on this forum in about two years..........as soon as I saw the news of Connolly's retirement I instantly thought of him.

Stephen is a nice fella. He used to hang around Maynooth when Helga was studying there. There were no airs or graces about him like there would be with some GAA players. To borrow Eamon Dunphy parlance, he doesn't need crap like that posted about him on a forum.

But back to Connolly. What a frustrating player....
