Is the only source for that info the following tweet from Gerry Malone? Because if it is…

It'll be the very time Gerry has it on the button.
Malone is great value. Enjoyed hom in the off-season saying Dundalk had re-signed Connor Malley after Sligo had already announced him, and same for Nathan Shepherd before the pretty public manner in which he definitely did not stay at the club.
Gerry cares about the club an awful lot (as we all do) but trying to keep that emotion and journalism and also that want to break the news, well it would break me if I was in a similar position. Other local journos are slated for being the barers of bad news, said to have agendas, they are bound to be swayed by their sources but its also their job to report their 'news' mainly not to be nice. There is a lot wrong at Dundalk FC for whatever reason and to report on it is not anti Dundalk FC. It would break Gerrys heart to see Stephen Kenny go to another LoI club and would cite a lack of ambition to let it happen rather than some practical reasons like finances and that Kenny may not want to touch current Dundalk FC with a barge pole. Bigger picture is fixing a serious amount of off field stuff. Read on Orielweb, for example, that the Patreon scheme hasnt been updated in a season or 2(?) but auto renew wasnt flagged if Patreon was retired - its small but basic stuff that grinds gears and the small stuff that adds up to the disconnect between club and fans that jounalists are feeding in to. Not sure what Im saying in relation to the above bar Malley and Sheppard and other stuff either wishful thinking or doomsday for live at Oriel.

Dutch striker who's played with Hereven and Telstar. Been with the club for months and pre season so should be well settled in. Think the club were holding back on signing as he was coming back slowly from an injury. Young lad looking to prove himself, so might be interesting.
I did see Gerry tweet about it but have heard the Kenny info from a couple of places now. Could be something to it.
Deccy the new Glens manager according to BBCNI. That didn’t take long. Good for him.

Itd be so much fun if Feeney was o the list to go the other way. Unlikely but hey it would be a true GLITW moment. I think Devine could be a specialist caretaker manager, he gets teams playing for a while but then fades, if you were looking for a late punt against relegation you wouldnt bet the house against him. Why do things go south fo him? Does he take the same backroom team in and needs to change it up. He was at odds with Fenlon at Bohs but the pattern is there.
I think he's good at the pep talks and getting people fired up but that only wins games for so long. Then his tactical nous is lacking. At Bohs we had a great start to last season and then fell off. That was also the pattern in games. Start fast then fall off. We never had any real style of play and were probably carried by having some very good player in Coote, Clarke, Afolabi and energy in midfield from Bucko or times and McDonnell.
Gerry on the money yet again https://www.thesun.ie/sport/12544391...-derek-pender/![]()

He's (Gerry Malone) the perfect example of someone (with a little respect) just too old to get the social media thing, doesn't understand tone on it, won't be told he is wrong, and keeps falling for 'nailed on info' fed to him and puts it up as gospel.
He'd be better suited taking a break from it. Reminds me in a way of the ex UUP nutcase guy up North on twitter, John Taylor, ex MP, he's in his 80's (Gerry is not) goes under a name of Lord Kil-something, but the stuff he comes out with.
Again, doesn't really suit you son.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), first Irish club to win points in a group stage in Europe (2016).
This is an issue and not easy to see at times. Deserves a bit more respect imo, and we all know the eccentricities without making someone look foolish even if the bait is easily taken. The Shep thing in fairness I think Dundalk also thought it was a done deal. Malley to Sligo was also unexpected if few fussed about it.

Declan Devine has made a winning start as interim manager for Glentoran.
For what it's worth. I heard at the Bohs match from people not related to Gerry Malone that the tour of ground/training ground did happen but the feeling is that Kenny is holding out to see if anything is available abroad. That's the nature of the reporting game I suppose. You could have all your facts correct but something happens and you end up with egg on your face.
