My current conspiracy theory is that the previous owners thought that the fans wouldn't approve of a new owner who didn't have a significant cash reserve coming in board. To work around that they played the poor card and said to Hoban we cannot fulfill your contract and he went public with that spinning long term Dundalk fans into a frenzy. This cleared the way for literally any other owner to come on board with little to no resistance in spite of the fact they have no real cash reserves to pump up the playing budget for next year
The latest on the rumour mill as per Dan McDonnell on Twitter is, Andrew Quinn is on his way to Drogheda, Dundalk have made an offer for Evan Weir of Drogs, Bohs and Waterford are competing for Rob Cornwall, while Shels are in for John Martin of Dundalk and John O’Sullivan of Bohs (which Bohs fans will be genuinely over the moon with)

Heard last night that we are linked with Dean George and a return for Enda Curran from Treaty Utd.
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?
According to Dan McDonnell, Shels are in for John Martin and more perplexing, John O'Sullivan for some reason. Andrew Quinn is going back to Drogheda who are trying to hold onto Evan Weir. Dundalk want to sign him. Bohs & Waterford both want Rob Cornwall unsurprisingly.
This Graham Cummins article on why Cork City should sign Pat Hoban genuinely reads as if a 10 year old wrote it. Absolute scutter from start to finish

Extratime.ie reporting that O'Sullivan to Shels is happening as he has negotiated early termination of his Bohs contract. Puzzler of a signing as he has done absolutely nothing at Bohs in 1.5 seasons. While I like Gannon and Ward I'm not sure about Duff's shift to 30+ Y.O. signings who all made very few starts last season if these guys are being signed with an intention to be starting XI players

The Leinster Senior League needs a strong Bohemians
At least with Gannon the coaching staff know a bit about him and he has vast experience in the league so can be a bit of a mentor in the dressing room. John O'Sullivan is just a strange signing if it goes through. Relatively new to the league and limited game time for the last year and a bit due to injury and just not being fit enough/good enough. I'm sure his signing interview with Shels will be all bluster of I'm here to prove myself and play every week but that was said at the start of this season at Bohs and ultimately nothing changed. Glad to see the back of him tbh as he was one of the worst signings Long ever made and there were some stinkers in there!
Jack Keaney confirmed by Drogheda,he seems a fairly limited footballer but Kevin Doherty seems to be very good at getting the most out of players…..

Huddersfield is where Ronan Teahan is having a trial - he's only just turned 19, so would benefit from another season in the League before making a long-term move, but certainly couldn't begrudge him the opportunity if an offer is made.
Rob Cornwall off to Waterford apparently and is meant to have picked them over Bohs….

Pats and Bohs is the chat about Keeley, I'd heard that we'd spoken to him weeks ago but all went quiet until the last couple of days. Would love to get him in as himself and Redmond sounds formidable to say the least, but not sure how optimistic I am about it. Wouldn't be surprised if he ended up across the water considering Notts County had bids turned down in the summer.
Ben McCormack linked with a move to Dundalk again this year. Can see it going through this time given his lack of minutes. He only started 8 games this year, with the only start he’s had since July being a dead rubber against Derry in the last game of the season. He’s got ability on the ball but work rate off the ball and end product in the final third let him down too much to be relied upon as a regular starter at a top 3 club. If he can improve those areas of his game he'll be a fine player wherever he’s playing

Niall Morahan signed back at Sligo, there were rumours of him heading elsewhere so they’ll be happy to have him back….

Was calling for him to play more in seasons gone by but he really hasn't kicked on as you'd have hoped. This year in particular his minutes dropped off a cliff and we now have Forrester, Kavanagh and Leavy that can play in his position, none of whom he has shown he is or will be better than so it makes sense that he moves on really. Could be a good signing for another side though, O'Donnell obviously fancies him. There's definitely ability there anyway, just a matter of actually getting it consistently out of him.
