Fairly talking about the LOI record here![]()
Pat’s putting a real side together. Add in the Kenny factor and they will be in the title hunt next season.
Harps sign Scottish midfielder Bruce Strachan from Ayr United.

He got Dunfermline to a cup final and also relegated in one season, he completely died on his ar$e at Rovers and also with the Irish national team. He did very well at dundalk indeed and deserved all the many ,many acres of praise that came his way( never won 4inarow),and he's now managed to convince pats to give him an extraordinarily long contract.
In international football we've witnessed Roberto Martinez getting huge jobs with Belgium and Portugal despite clearly him not knowing his hoop from a hole in the ground in football terms.
As they say at d'olympics "cest la vie".
The lack of gratitude for a Leinster Senior Cup win is a sight to behold.
All 3 of those clubs he managed an absolute age ago. You could also say the last 4 jobs he's had( Rovers, dundalk ,Ire U21, Ire senior team) he has a 50% record.
You could also argue only one club was silly enough to show a lack of patience in him too![]()
And you could similarly argue that one country was silly enough to show far too much patience in him. He has plenty of time at Pat's to do his thing anyway, unless Kelleher decides otherwise.
Tbf to Kenny, every setback or failure he's had as a manager he has gone on to make a success of his next job, that's a very solid track record. He's managed 5 clubs here over 3 decades and only Rovers fans are generally giving out about what happened. What O' Neill did was a very tough act to follow tbf and they probably should have given him more time, but that's also a job that was a long time ago, and I'm not a Rovers fan so I don't know the ins and outs, the vibes seemed off from the start there.
Both the success of the u21's and failures of the senior international team probably don't really reflect what he can do with a LOI club, it's very different managing and improving lads who are at crossroads in their careers day to day, and building a culture, vs trying to do what you can every couple of months with whoever is available at any given international squad.
Maybe some connections from the U21 days will pay off, like with being able to bring in Elbouzedi tbf, but otherwise with most managers I tend to separate their club and international records, especially in this case where he's done so much in our very small pond.
I think his start at Pat's has been terrible, the Derry performance was as much a joke as the Vaduz result is excellent, but I would be very confident of him building something great at Pat's and then probably already challenging for the title next season, we've seen this movie before. It's not like he's in his 70's and hasn't been keeping tabs on football

Afolabi could be on the move to Turkey. Bid lodged by Sivaspor for 550,000 with Bohs supposedly getting 20%. Between that and the money for Promise's move Bohs could launch a bid to bring Georgie Kelly back in the next window. Jokes aside the value of sell on clauses has been made abundantly clear this year with so many former LOI players moving
Seen Cork are getting about 350k from Jake O' Brien's move as well.
Former Bohemians striker Jonathan Afolabi is on the move as Turkish side Sivasspor have lodged a €550,000 bid for the Belgian-based Dubliner. Bohs due 110k from the deal if it goes through….
Irish by birth ,Harps by the grace of god.

He's a free agent though, I thought free agents can be signed anytime?
Anyhow the article is nonsense. There's been no contact between Clancy or Maguire. He was asked would he like to sign him and answered yes
Yeah my understanding is that free agents can sign anytime it's only transfers between clubs that need to take place during the window. If Maguire is on the way back I hope Bohs are knocking down his door but based on the last interview he gave I think he will want to stay in the UK. He seems to be trying to focus on his family at the moment which is good for him and I hope it works out for him.
