Is one of Waterford's loan players gone back to their parent club? I thought clubs were only allowed a max of 4 loanees while they’ve now got Baggley, Asamoah and Glenfield on loan from Fleetwood, Jones on loan from Doncaster and Skwierczynski (yes I copy and pasted for the spelling!) on loan from Ruch Chorzow. I’m assuming either one of those has returned or else maybe I’m wrong and it’s 5 loanees per club

Though it was 4 myself but looks like FIFA changed it, reads to me from 1st July 2024 6 players allowed to be loaned in and 6 loaned out, with a maximum of 3 players involving one single club
Even more great news for the Manchester City/Fleetwood Town parent club model that everyone else seems to hate

The Leinster Senior League needs a strong Bohemians
You'd wonder why a lot more English clubs are not trying to buy up LoI clubs, with 4 (or 5) loanees possible for good young players to benefit fsenior football, maybe European exposure, mature some kids sending them away from home. Not massive money in relative terms. It would only be Irish clubs' rejection of being tied in to having to play players, something Id agree with myself.
Ruairi Keating has left Pats by mutual consent and signed back for Cork. Never worked out for him this season but I wish him all the best, a likeable lad. On the plus side for Pats it frees up one of the bigger wages in the squad as well as one of the long term contracts

didnt think it would work for him at pats but hard for him to turn a move like that down. delighted to have him back either way as we've missing a no.9 all season. just another 8 starters to sign before 2025.
What was it Clancy was saying about not being able to afford players that certain Dublin teams were offering big money to?
Didn't see that one coming though! Hadn't heard anything about him leaving being on the cards. Fair to say Keating didn't live up to expectations but at the same time I don't think it's been his fault for much of the season as we just haven't really created many chances for anyone. I'd be shocked if we don't have someone coming in to replace him given the options left at the club now.
I wonder does that mean Aidan Keena is going to Pats?
Irish by birth ,Harps by the grace of god.

Cian Barrett returns to Kerry for the rest of the season.
I did see that mentioned. You’d imagine there must be someone lined up if we let Keating go. Didn’t really work out for him, but I’m not sure how much blame he can shoulder for that, given the season we’re having. I’m sure he’ll do well again for Cork. Bound to score against us in Richmond next season !
Out for a spell, got neglected, lay on the bench unselected.
Keating had a really poor spell at Pats, I think only 4 goals, its clear as day it wasn't working out and he was out of their plans under two different managers, odd one this as there was a lot of noise made about his arrival, then very little return.
He seems more than happy to return to Cork City, sometimes moves just don't work out and for various reasons.

"I had a couple of options closer to home but everyone at Kerry was brilliant with me last season and I really enjoyed my time here. So I felt if I was going out to the first division to get games I wanted to show them the same loyalty they showed me." - Cian Barrett on rejoining Kerry on loan from Shamrock Rovers for the remainder of the season.
Keena to Pats is a done deal according to local press over the water.
No, he was a hard worker but like a lot of Scot and other players they totally underestimated the LOI, he scored two this weekend on his return to tier 5 or whatever standard the same club Dundalk signed him from.
Hope his replacement is better, he is from second tier in Scot, so hopefully this one works out.

I think Jake Keegan is the only striker since Fagan to hit 10. Others honourable mentions include Bisto Flood who did it while Fagan was at the club, Conan Byrne and Matty Smith also did but they were both wingers (although Smith did fill in up front when Ronan Coughlan was out injured), Forrester last year from midfield. Really is a bit of a cursed position for the club and not for want of trying as they have brought big names in too but none have worked as a long term solution under any of the different managers in that time
