    Regulars in premiership

Maybe I'm being pessimistic but it doesn't auger well for the success of the national team this season, with so few of our players regulars with good premiership teams..

    O'shea - Had a excellent game yesterday
Roy Keane - Going down hill rapidly
    Kilbane - a sub

Robbie Keane - no sign of him yesterday
    Kelly - sub
    A Reid - Had a good game
    O'Brien - Lost at home
Dunne - no sign of him yesterday
    Morrison - sub
    Cunningham - solid

Breen - conceeded 3 goals and will struggle this season
    Elliott - sub
S Reid - Well beaten at West Ham
    Finnan - Solid game

Duff & Given to play today

    Robbie Keane - injuried
    Graham Kavanagh - injured
    Dunne - injured

    Duff - on top form
Given - on top form, linked with arsenal again
    Finnan - on top form
    Reid - on top form
    Cunnigham - top form.

O Shea - good game, signing a new 4 year contract and future secured.
Kelly - only broke into the EPL and is very young FFS.
Roy Keane - completed all preseason football and still up for it, only lacking in pace.

    Kilbane - ??
O'Brien - unlucky with that goal AFAIK
    S Reid - average game.

    Morrison - 4th choice striker
Breen - conceeded 3 goals and will struggle this season. Relegation team
    Elliott - sub. Relegation team

I think that is closer to the truth. I would be more concerned with Elliott and Morrison tbh. Robbie will do alright even if he has to leave spurs

Elliott nearly scored when he came on, of the 2 who started, Stead has more experience at this level and Gray has been around a while, let's not forget Elliott has only had 1 season at senior level, he nearly scored when he came on, so his chance will come.

I don't think Andy O'Brien was at fault for either goal to be honest
All goals, yellow and red cards tweeted in real time on mastodon, BlueSky and facebook

If John Stead and/or Andy Gray are keeping you out of the team its a bad sign. Neither are much cop. Stead in particular is crap and Elliot was better than Gray in the Championship last year.

I'd read nothing into Elliott's exclusion. As Tetsujin said, I reckon Stead got thye nod because of experience.
