Well, one thing that Drogheda currently have over Dundalk is that Drogheda's record of unbeaten league games in a row, which is at 26 games, Dundalk's best is 22. Although Dundalk ended the season with 18 league games unbeaten, so need 9 league games more to beat Drogheda in that!

Great to see CX+ Sport getting another contract. By all accounts the Dundalk kits are top quality, hopefully Drogheda's will be too.

I love the Drogs press release, referring to the company as 'local' and 'Louth based' without mentioning Dundalk once.

Swapping 'local' for the more accurate 'Dundalk' gives some great quotes:
“It’s very important for the progression of the club to forge strong bonds with Dundalk businesses"
"hopefully it will help strengthen the Dundalk economy."

What would be fantastic, is Drogheda coming out with the exact same kit design as Dundalks.

Yup Drogheda in Black and White would be funny indeed! I like Horseware's thinking in that no club is too big or small for them.

Seriously CX+ have invested in this with the employment of people specifically for this market and they are aware of the complaints about other suppliers and so far have not fallen victim to rubbish quality, standardised design, supply issues etc. They must be competitive with either price or amounts of gear supplied so other clubs will no doubt have a look at whats on offer. Warrenpoint have been pitched to so its not as if they are looking to go too big too soon so as they could end up with the afore mentioned suppliers issues.

Charlie nice guys win little just ask Cork fans of recent times (and Drogheda fans in general) :P

I just did a little formatting on your initial post!

What period was that from Boss, I`m thinking must have been around 2007 to 08? Also didn't Drogs have a very long unbeaten home record, possibly during Lourdes Stadium days pre 1980?

Noticed that too myself, outstanding stuff...............Almost up there with the comments from the legendary Drogs council man or ex man years ago, Frank Godfrey, at a meeting, and on about lack of factories opening up in Drogheda, stands up and points north 'Don't blame me if another factory opens UP THERE'

I stand to be corrected but I think it was the 90-1 season in the First Division. Drogs lost their first game and went unbeaten the rest of the league season. A Louth double, Premier and First Division titles that year.

I wasn't aware that design and colour were the same thing now?

In the 1939-40 season Dundalk had a quartered design with maroon and blue colours.
The Dundalk Democrat description--light blue and chocolate-- isn't a million miles from our local neighbour's colours.

From those periods you mention, 17 games was the best between 2006 and 2007 seasons for that side. The side from the mid-late 70s did achieve 38 league home games unbeaten, starting at the end of 75-76 to the middle of 78-79.

It was indeed that season sean but actually Drogheda lost their last game and not their first game!

Just to be clear, and I know we are way off topic, Boss so the Drogs unbeaten run of 26 league games was achieved during the 1990-91 FD season?

If so and impressive as it sounds, it cannot be compared to any team's PD record.

However the unbeaten home record in the league (single division) during the period Mar /April 1976 to winter 1979 (38 games) must be up there with LOI records though?

    Yes, very true.

Of all the teams currently in the league, it is the highest, Bohemians are next at 31, Mar-1977 to Feb-1979. I have not yet checked the records of former teams in the league but would be confident in saying that it is the record. In terms of Premier Division only record, I think it might be St. Pats at 26 games between Oct-1989 to Feb-1991, just seen that Dundalk were actually at 25 games when they lost their record during last season, run was between Sep-2013 to Jun-2015.
