Which Lafferty are ye talking about? If its Kyle Lafferty of Burnley he is from the North, the Lafferty lad for Celtic, howvever is Irish afaik
Dated August 15th, from Hull's website:
Hull City boss Phil Parkinson has been hit by the news his captain Damien Delaney is facing a three-month stint on the sidelines after damaging ankle ligaments.
The central defender suffered the injury in training last week which resulted in him missing his first game in two years in Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Derby County at the KC Stadium
Which Lafferty are ye talking about? If its Kyle Lafferty of Burnley he is from the North, the Lafferty lad for Celtic, howvever is Irish afaik
Irish FA website claims him as one of theirs!

Gary Kelly, Jonathan Douglas, and Paul Butler all played 90 for Leeds, Cunnigham, Miller (scored), Kavanagh (scored), Murphy all played 90 for Sunderland. David Connolly also started, but was replaced by Stephen Elliott on 43 because of an injury (unknown what degree, it was his leg (perhaps hamstring which he hurt last year), I dont think that bad, because I think he walked off on his own). Elliott played 17 minutes before getting hurt (It was his ankle, he had to helped off the pitch...This could be very bad, I hurt my ankle playing basketball 2 years ago and was out for a month and a half), though he managed to score (on a pass from Murphy) in those 17 minutes. Ah don't ruin a good quote Worm!
Wayne Henderson has asked for a transfer after being dropped for Brighton's last 2 games. It'll be interesting to see if he gets one.
Sunderland vs Leicester next week. Chance for Paddy McCarthy to impress the new Irish B team boss?
Injury update:
Connolly, thigh strain, probably 1 maybe 2 weeks
Elliott no break ligament strain probably 3-4 weeks
Elliott is gone for the Cyprus and the Czechs, which paves the way for Long, Murphy, or maybe Connolly
FC Levadia Tallinn 0 - 1 Newcastle
Given, Carr, Duff, full 90 for Newcastle
SV Salzburg 2 - 2 Blackburn

Slavia Prague 0 - 1 Tottenham
Keane started and played 79 for Tottenham---his and Doyle's scoring record both have to be worrysome at this point

I'm going to open a new thread later with updated lists of players. It's a pity I didn't do it before the seasons started though.
Pady McCarthy on his sides trip to the staduim of light tomorrow
No crisis here
Paddy McCarthy insists there will be no crisis of confidence when he leads Leicester City out against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light tomorrow.
Just as the Wearsiders are going from strength to strength, City are faltering, but the inspirational Irishman is adamant that the visitors are up for the challenge.
"I don't think it is a confidence thing," said City skipper McCarthy, whose side have hit a rocky patch, losing the last two games after putting together a four-match unbeaten run.
"Anyone who watched our game on Tuesday night here would see that we were the better side, but the hardest part of this game is putting the ball in the net.
"We have worked hard on the training ground to try to put that right, and we feel we can go there and get a good result.
"We are not going to make up the numbers, to just be part of the atmosphere with Roy Keane making his home debut as manager. We are going up there to try to win a football match.
"Obviously, he is a massive presence. Plymouth won there earlier in the season and I know a lot has changed since then, but we feel we have a chance."
Not least because the Championship is so even it is accepted that everyone can beat everyone else on any given day - as bottom club Hull showed on Tuesday when they stole a 1-0 win at the Walkers Stadium.
Moreover, there is a tremendous spirit in the City side, even among the strikers who are straining at the leash to bring an end their barren run in front of goal.
Sunderland have a striker problem of their own, but of a different sort.
Former City forward David Connolly, who signed for Sunderland from Wigan recently, and Steve Elliott both suffered injuries in Wednesday's win at Leeds.
That could open the door for Dwight Yorke to resume his career as a striker after being switched to a midfield defensive role by Trinidad & Tobago at the World Cup.
But the main threat to City will be the sheer intensity of the passion from the stands, not to mention Keane on the bench.
Sunderland, who have won their last three games, including two under Keane, will be desperate to give the former Manchester United captain a win on his first home appearance and, on form, they will start favourites

Some bad news for Elliott, hes now out up to 2 months, so no Cyprus, Czechs, or San Marino for him. We are a bit fortunate its these 3 as the only place we wouldve really needed him really is the Czechs, though it is true that we really needed him against Cyprus last time, as he scored our only goal. Connolly is still a couple of weeks

I think Jim O'Brien was on the bench for Celtic.
Anyone see Andy Keogh's goal. Quality.
Just saw Billy Clarke's goal from midweek. OK, keeper may have saved it but great run & shot.
