Thanks, I originally had more but computer crashed and I lost it (it had Adam Rooney and League 2)
    A few quick additions
    Michael Evans scored for Torquay
    Barry Cogan scored for Barnet
John "JJ" Melligan scored for Cheltenham
    Today
Paul Butler, Gary Kelly, and Jonathon Douglas started for Leeds, Darren Potter and Gary Breen started McCarthy's Wolves, Breen had either an assist or he headed to the guy with the assist on Bothroyd's goal

Anthony Stokes made his Falkirk debut on saturday, but they got thumkped 4-0 at Ibrox. patrick Cregg also played for falkirk.

    From BBC Website:

New Falkirk signing Anthony Stokes made his debut up front, while fellow new recruits John Stewart and Tam McManus were named as substitutes.

But the teenager on loan from Arsenal was a virtual spectator early on as Rangers started the game in attack.

Julien Rodriguez rose above everyone else only for his header to drift over the crossbar from eight yards following a Burke corner.

Stokes was not too far away with a long-range effort that dipped just over.

    From soccerscene.ie:

Adam Rooney believes he can learn a lot from new signing Ricardo Fuller as he strives for a return to the first-team.

The young Irishman burst onto the scene with a hat-trick at Brighton's Withdean Stadium on the final day of last season.

After damaging a medial ligament in pre-season the teenager spent a frustrating six weeks on the sidelines but returned to action for the reserves in the 4-1 win over Shrewsbury and insists the arrival of Fuller from Southampton is good for his progress as well as for the team.

"I haven't seen him in training yet," he revealed, "but I've heard a lot about him and it is a great signing for everyone at the club.

"Playing alongside different types of strikers is good for my game so hopefully when the opportunity arises, it can give me the experience I need to better myself here.

"I just want to be in the first-team and I'll have to keep pushing. Competition for places is good for the club and if I can push my name up there, I will get a chance."

The 18-year-old lined up alongside Sammy Bangoura in the reserve's win over Barnsley and added the finishing touch to a 3-1 win, scoring with a neat back-heel.

He insists his main goal is match fitness, adding: "It's s just great to be playing again. I've never been injured before for more than a few days, so it has been frustrating.

"For the goal, Pato (Martin Paterson) did well in beating his marker and I wanted to try and make a run to the front post to get ahead of the defender.

"It was a great ball in and I just tried to flick it into the corner of the goal and luckily it came off for me.

"I've never tried it in a game before but I scored one like that in training the other day so I had it fresh in my mind."

Rooney maintained his comeback from injury scoring his second goal in as many games helped City's second string breezed past Barnsley at the Britannia Stadium.

The Republic of Ireland youth international netted the third goal with a cheeky back heel, to ensure a first home win of the season for Noel Blake's side.

Colin Healy ( yes our Coiln Healy) bagged a consolation goal for the Tykes before Adam Rooney added the finishing touches to the score line in the dying minutes.

But the goal of the day was scored by the returning Rooney. After missing much of the season so far through injury, the young Irishman showed he had lost none of his quality with just 10 minutes remaining.

Martin Paterson turned his marker inside out before delivering a low cross, which Rooney neatly back heeled into the net.

Kevin Doyle got the award for Reading's Player of the Season for last year

Doyle started for Reading, Shane Long came on in the 75th minute, Graham Stack and Stephen Hunt were unused subs. Richard Dunne played 90 for City

Thought Doyle was poor last night until late on when he had 1 decent chance and 1 shot that was going in after rounding the keeper, until Distin intervened to put it out for a corner. Long did well when he came on, showed good pace and control against a tiring Man City defence.
Dunne kept Doyle very quiet all night until late on (which is when Doyle had his best spell) when he was sent forward in search of an equaliser. Along with Weaver was probably Man City's most consistent player of the night, although he'll be disappointed he didn't get his head to the cross that led to Reading's goal.
No sign of Ireland, Hamann took his place on the bench.

Impressive list Worm, I think Lafferty at Celtic plays for the North though, could be wrong.

I've been meaning to start a new thread for the new English season but haven't got around to it. I'll probably have it done by this weekend. Worm's list will come in handy. An update for Football Manager was released on Sunday so I'll start compiling an updated list today.

A few mistakes Stuttgart88 helped me with
For Barnsley, Coulson is not Irish, Mark Devaney is (Coulson was directly above Devaney on the list on Wikipedia, I must have saw him)
Conrad Logan, the keeper for Leicester
Dominic Foley (FW) KAA Gent (thanks to Dodge)
No new finds on Lafferty, but everyone says that hes from the North, so Ill take him off.
I'll look into Cillian Sheridan (He is Irish, but does he still play for Celtic, if so, what team (first or reserves) and what position (forward?) and Lafferty

Sheridan's a striker in the U-19's, scored twice against Hibs recently:

    I think you're right.

Here's what SKY News says about Clarke:

Ipswich Town manager Jim Magilton has hailed Billy Clarke after his match-winner in the 2-1 win over Coventry City on Tuesday.

The 18-year-old scored an 85th minute winner for Town in a dramatic second half at Portman Road.

Clarke had only been on the field for five minutes before unleashing a 25-yard left foot drive that defeated the diving Andy Marshall.

While Magilton has been singing the praises of the teenager he has also urged a word of caution.

"He is a revelation but I must try to keep his feet on the ground," Magilton confirmed.

"He has always had something about him. He suffered injury last season but he took it on the chin and is now firing on all cylinders."

The strike was Clarke's third goal of the campaign and he has been thrilled with his impact at The Championship club so far.

"I can't believe how it's gone for me. It's just amazing. It's mad really," Clarke told the club's website.

Edit: prize to anyone who can find anything about this in the Irish media. Not that an Irishman doing well in football is of any consequence to anyone.

Diarmuid O'Carroll, Darren O'Dea and Jim O'Brien all played the 90 minutes for Celtic's reserves in a 2-1 win away from home over an experienced Hibs second string.
O'Carroll notched the winner late on.

    leicester v hull 0-1

McCarthy played and Logan held his spot on the bench for the second league game despite former Celtic and Scotlnd keeper Douglas definately being fit and able again.
Maybury again didnt feature at all.

Yeates was an unused sub for hull and no sign of Delaney in their 16. injured maybe?

McCarthy, early on was busy, winning several headers and giving away one free kick when challenging for a high ball when he seemed to knee the striker in the lowerback and one where he (McCarthy) went down holding his own face off the ball when he was definately caught.

he also showed some real quality when in posession by turning away from the chasing player leaving him for dead and then looking up to play a short pass, when there was no ball on, instead of hoisting it 50 yards up field, he took the ball 20 yards or so to his right, making a better angle before playing a truly stunning crossfield ball to his striker in the opponents third, this was made even more impressive by the fact that the striker,Hume, is tiny and was between 2 C.B.'s at the time, and yet he found his chest with the pass. this lead directly to leicester winning a corner.

not long after though, McCarthy was caught in posession on the edge of his area and had hulls final ball been better it could have been costly.

into the second half and he very nearly scored from a corner with a fine header, having already forced hull into conceding 2 previous corners immediately before with his presence in the 6 yard box.

then came the sickner, with hulls winner coming from a moment of real quality from Bridges who showed his pedigree curling it in the top corner from well outside the area but leicester had failed to close him down quickly enough with Paddy and the leftback hesitating for a moment as they seemed to leave it to eachother to close down the ball carrier.

even still, late on he had another chance, with a clear sight of goal from 10 yrds but it fell on his left, and even then, it was the type of chance you want to fall to a striker, and his scuffed effort was saved fairly comfortably.
