3 teams winning but 2 were seeded is that correct?what do they need to do in the next round to enter or be seeded in the next round next year?
Hm. If Crues could keep Rosenborg to six last season, maybe Sligo have a chance this year.
(Great win though; Ekranes are handy enough, and home and away victories is impressive)
2544 at Dundalk. 2139 at Sligo. Healthy crowds too. 430 in Wales I think it was.

Dundalk letting the side down![]()
I think the round you start in is based solely on national coefficient. Bert Kassies' site says 34th in Europe is enough for one team to get a bye. We were 36th this year. That's a tough bye though as you're unseeded, so you tend to drop down to the first round again. I think Sligo got that bye before.
To be seeded in that round this year, you needed a club coefficient of 5.225 at least. That's shakhtar, who Derry are playing. Sligo's coefficient is 3.775 this year before Banga. So it's not unthinkable. A slight problem is that the cup winners would get the first bye, and they're obviously that bit more likely to be weaker
Also, you don't get prize money/participation fee for any round you skip, so bit of a poisoned chalice all around.
A leading authority on League of Ireland football since 2003. You're probably wrong.
So many new records tonight, I'll have to post them later, just too much to analyse at the moment!
Just a couple here:
400th goal in Europe scored by Sligo Rovers' Danny North.
5-0 is the Highest win in Europe by an LOI club.
9-0 is the Highest aggregate win in Europe by an LOI club.
so who does everyone meet in the next round, and when are the matches been played?
GET IN LADS!
Hon the LOI!
Hopefully given I'm home from next week I'll manage a game of some description.
DID YOU NOTICE A SIGN OUTSIDE MY HOUSE...?
The first legs are next week on the 17th of July. The second legs are a week later. Dundalk play Hajduk Split, Sligo play Rosenborg and Derry play Shakhtyor Salihorsk (Belarus).

Any clips up yet of any of the games?
You've got no fans.
Was there anything from the first legs on Soccer Republic on Monday?
Brings back memories of Shels win in Tolka - fantastic night - I'll be in Oriel hoping for more of the same!
It's a tough one tho - Derry probably have the best draw of the three that played tonight, Sligo have the toughest, I was there when Rosenborg beat both Shels & Bohs, they were seriously classy then, may have dropped down the pecking order a bit since then, but they are still a quality team & will be expecting to win comfortably.
Edit - the last time Split were in Ireland:

Trophy Manager - online football managment game - I like it - I think I'm getting obsessed with it though.
Rosenborg have Gamboa, who played in the WC with Costa Rica, Diskerud, Bille Nielsen, Dorsin, Gamst Pedersen and Reginiussen. A lot of talented players with International experience - young and old. It's going to be a big ask for Sligo Rovers.
Be good for them to see talent like that at the Showgrounds though. They don't come around often; though Verratti, Immobile and James McCarthy have all graced their turf in recent memory.
List of some stats after Thursday's games:
1) 400th goal in Europe scored by Sligo Rovers' Danny North.
2) First time 3 LOI clubs have progressed on the same night.
3) 5-0 is the Highest win in Europe by an LOI club. 5-1 & 4-0 remains the Highest win at HOME.
4) Derry are the first ever LOI club to score 5 goals twice, which were both AWAY games. Bohemians are the only other club to score 5. Clubs from Scotland & Wales were both their victims.
5) 9-0 is the Highest aggregate win in Europe by an LOI club.
6) New record of 5 Clean Sheets in a row. Even 4 was a record before Sligo's result.
7) New record of 12 goals in a day.
8) With 18 goals so far, that is the 3rd highest total achieved in a season which equals the total for 2004 which was after 18 games. 26 goals from 2008 is the current record.
9) With a total 6 matches unbeaten, that equals the record from 2004 (3 Wins, 3 Draws).
10) Another record that was equalled is 4 Wins in a row, which last happened in 2005.
11) This was only Sligo Rovers' 2nd win in European competition in 22 matches. Unsurprisingly, the first time they have scored 4 goals in a match.
12) The last time Dundalk faced Croation oppostion they lost 9-0 aggregate to Varteks in 2002.
13) Hajduk Split have played LOI clubs twice before, losing on both occasions when playing in Ireland, but won their Home matches.
14) Clubs from Belarus have visited Ireland twice before without a win, a draw and a loss.
15) In Rosenborg's previous matches v LOI, they have scored in all 4 matches, recording 3 Wins and 1 Draw.
