He thinks he's injured is his biggest problem, that and he's a lazy bsatard who dosent realise how good he has it. Someday he will realise but it will be too late by then, cause he'll be 20 stone sitting on a couch in Grimbsy.
The club gave him the best of everything and his attitude stinked. The cup final this year was 18 months after his injury and hes still not near fit. He got a bad injury, but ya can still stay fit with not-contact training like cycling or swimming. Lost pretty much all respect for him after the Dundalk away game .. huge game at the time and he's in front of our fans cracking jokes, not looking at the game and basically not giving a fcuk.
Manager: Fergal, have you your boots with ya?
Fergal: Ya, I have them here.
Manager: Ah good stuff, well give them to this man so, he forgot his!
It's probably different for everybody depending on how well you're reacting to rehab obviously, I know i was told it would be 6 months after the operation and with extensive rehab before I could even consider going back to training and even then after about my 3rd training session I managed to tear it again but i presume that obviously he'd be a bit more looked after compared to an amateur like me ...It's not an inhjury that any player should rush back from anyway no matter how much they wanna get back playing
Fair play to Sligo for offering him a new contract with such a serious injury though, they deserve a lot of praise for that IMO
He had the contract signed before the cup final. 2 year deal as well. The last player we had that was playing with us at the time who we offered a contract longer then 1 year. Danny North in July last year.............
Still, I doubt Peersy would be cut loose over an injury given what he's done for the club.

Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?
From talking to people at the dinner dance we cant see any clubs pulling out of the prem div- the only reason he wants to stay is he gets on famously with our fans plus he has a very good job with BOI Dublin and doenst want to go Fulltime... I would imagine our sponsor Phil Munnelly must have increased his wages as a sweetener to staying.. I am made up about him staying.. I rate him much higher than Dave mooney. And he only needs to score 16 goals next season and he will ave equalled our alltime legend Richie Parsons record alltime of 43 goals.. no pressure eh Davy?

Ah right, I wasn't aware of his job. Still, for a striker you'd reckon he'd want to be challenging himself at the top level (although I've been at a couple of LTFC games this season and can understand why he'd be swayed by the love the fans have for him).
He probably feels a loyalty to LTFC for as he sees it finally giving him his chance at LOI level. One more year would be the extent of that loyalty if we don't go up and he has a similar year to last year I'd imagine. As Martinho mentions we could probably push the boat out a little for him wages wise with sponsorship, especially now Gillespie is off the books.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.
I thought Gillespie was being paid by his agent? Fair ****s to him for being loyal to the club, it's a big thing for players to do in this league, saying that from a club that has induced people to break loyalty on many occasions.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.
Longford can compete with Athlone, Bohs, Bray and UCD for wages. Not on a full squad but certainly for most players.
I'm sure the lad knew what kind of offers he'd receive elsewhere. If the bigger teams aren't interested, then why change? Fair play to him for sticking with them

I know there's more for some teams (Cork and Shams at least) but I'm just working off the top of my head until someone from that club posts it up.
